4 Best Star Wars Characters Introduced on Disney+

As a die-hard Star Wars fan, I’ve been thrilled to witness the expansion of this galaxy far, far away over the past six years. Since 2019 with the debut of The Mandalorian, the franchise has graced our screens on Disney+ with an impressive lineup of seven series so far. Shows like Star Wars: Andor and Star Wars: Ahsoka have received rave reviews, while The Book of Boba Fett and Star Wars: The Acolyte have had a mix of praise and criticism.

But what I love most is that Disney+ has given us the chance to meet new characters alongside our beloved originals. Legends like Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison), and Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen) have returned, and we’ve also been introduced to fantastic newcomers. Characters such as Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff), Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson), and Cad Bane (Corey Burton)-who previously graced animated Star Wars projects-have made their live-action debut on Disney+. It’s been an incredible journey, and I can’t wait to see where the Force takes us next!

In Disney+ series, these four remarkable Star Wars characters made their initial on-screen debuts for the first time.

4) Din Djarin

In simpler terms, The Mandalorian’s protagonist, Din Djarin (played by Pedro Pascal), stands out among the fresh faces introduced in Star Wars during its Disney+ era. He offers a unique take on bounty hunters within the Star Wars universe, demonstrating an intriguing mix of traits. The Mandalorian is both calm and imposing in battle, exuding an unmissable confidence. Across the show’s three seasons, we frequently witness his mastery with weapons like blasters, flame throwers, and the Darksaber, solidifying him as one of Star Wars’ strongest fighters.

Simultaneously, Djarin shows himself as a caring and devoted guardian to Grogu, who found himself under his watch by sheer luck. Djarin’s determination to rebuild Mandalore alongside Bo-Katan, while raising Grogu, has led him on some thrilling adventures so far. And it’s expected that he will encounter more intriguing events in the series Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu.

3) Grogu

Grogu, Djarin’s lovable little sidekick, has captured the affection of Star Wars enthusiasts since his debut in The Mandalorian. Often referred to as “Baby Yoda” by fans, this young Force-user may not have been directly involved in many battles thus far, but he consistently steps up to aid Djarin during challenging situations.

In simpler terms, although some might view Grogu as just a story tool in “The Mandalorian”, he is actually the core of the series. The show’s narrative is deeply intertwined with his journey, transforming from a baby foundling to a potential Jedi, and eventually embracing Mandalorian culture. At the end of Season 3, Grogu was given the name Din Djarin’s Grogu, symbolizing his official adoption by Djarin. With this name change, Grogu is poised for continued growth not only in “The Mandalorian” but also in potential future series.

2) Bix Caleen

In addition to characters from “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” that appear in “Andor”, some of the most compelling characters were introduced on Disney+. Bix Caleen, portrayed by Adria Arjona, is a key figure in “Andor”. She’s a skilled mechanic who works alongside Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and the Rebels.

In the course of two seasons, Bix encounters her fair amount of adversity and distress, yet demonstrates remarkable tenacity, particularly when her allies are in jeopardy. Bix’s bond with Cassian becomes a pillar of support for both characters, and it’s captivating to observe their dynamic as individuals and as a couple. Among all the characters introduced in Andor, Bix shines brightest, showcasing her strong influence on the narrative that leads up to the events portrayed in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

1) Fennec Shand

In “The Mandalorian” Seasons 1 and 2, as well as in “The Book of Boba Fett,” I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing Ming-Na Wen’s captivating portrayal of the formidable character, Fennec Shand. As a dedicated admirer, I can attest to her unyielding toughness and exceptional skills as a mercenary that have earned her a place among the ranks of elite bounty hunters.

Working alongside Djarin and Boba Fett in these thrilling series, Fennec’s relentless determination and battlefield prowess were truly awe-inspiring. Armed with a deadly sniper rifle, she demonstrated an uncanny ability to neutralize threats from afar, instilling fear in all who dared to cross her path.

Her presence on the battlefield was undeniably commanding, and I could hardly take my eyes off her as she took down targets with precision and finesse. Fennec Shand is not just a formidable adversary – she is a force to be reckoned with in every sense of the phrase.

Fennec’s remarkable accuracy and unwavering resolve make her an ideal choice for tackling any challenge, and it’s truly exciting to see her in action during fast-paced scenes. Star Wars should provide Fennec with more significant roles moving forward, so let’s hope she reappears in future projects to expand her storyline further.
