The development team 5th Column Studio has unveiled their latest creation – the game titled “Kaidan“. A trailer was released along with this announcement, revealing that it’s an action game heavy on cinematics, featuring battles against terrifying Yokai creatures in both single-player and multiplayer modes. In the game named “Kaidan”, players assume the role of a character known as a Seeker. This Seeker finds themselves ensnared in a delicate balance between life and death. By striking an agreement with the Envoy for another chance, they are sent back to the realm of Ikaiguchi. In this world, they will encounter various supernatural beings called Yokai, which they must confront as part of their journey.
In the ominous and fantastical depiction of feudal Japan that the name suggests, Kaidan is set. Here, reality has been warped by eerie cosmic forces, creating a nightmarish landscape. Although the trailer primarily highlights its visually stunning levels and formidable enemies, it also offers glimpses into the game’s brutal and gory combat sequences.
Kaidan is currently only slated for release on PC (via Steam), and doesn’t yet have a release date.
