Doctor Who legend leads cast of Paddington the Musical – but there’s still one major name missing

Doctor Who icon Bonnie Langford has been named in the principal cast of Paddington the Musical.

In November, the previous associate is preparing to assume the role of Mrs. Bird, the housekeeper character, during the world premiere of the show.

This morning, it was announced that Langford is joining the Brown family, comprising Adrian Der Gregorian portraying Mr. Brown, Amy Ellen Richardson as Mrs. Brown, Delilah Bennett-Cardy as Judy Brown, while the character of Jonathan Brown will be played by Joseph Bramley, Leo Collon, Stevie Hare, and Jasper Rowse collectively.

Alongside these actors are: Timi Akinyosade playing Tony, Amy Booth-Steel as Lady Sloane, Tarinn Callender in the role of Grant, Tom Edden portraying Mr Curry, Brenda Edwards taking on the character Tanya, Victoria Hamilton-Barritt as Millicent Clyde, and Teddy Kempner appearing as Mr Gruber.

In addition to the main cast, we have Timi Akinyosade acting as Tony, Amy Booth-Steel playing Lady Sloane, Tarinn Callender taking on Grant, Tom Edden in the character of Mr Curry, Brenda Edwards portraying Tanya, Victoria Hamilton-Barritt assuming Millicent Clyde, and Teddy Kempner stepping into the role of Mr Gruber.

Despite not yet knowing who will portray the marmalade-loving bear, the announcement is shrouded in mystery with the phrase: “Paws ready for a dramatic reveal.

“We can’t wait for you to meet Paddington, but please bear with us a little longer.”

Starting from 30th November 2025, the musical is set to arrive at London’s Savoy Theatre. Composer and lyricist Tom Fletcher of McFly will join forces with director Luke Sheppard and book writer Jessica Swale for this production.

After hearing about the casting, producers Sonia Friedman and Eliza Lumley expressed their excitement: “Over several years, we’ve had the great fortune of collaborating with Tom, Jessica, and Luke on creating and developing a new musical. Now, we’re thrilled to begin rehearsals with this exceptional team.

Paddington has discovered a new residence, which is none other than the Savoy Theatre in London’s West End – a venue that is showcasing burlesque performances throughout the summer season.

As a devoted admirer, I’d eagerly share that this prestigious location gracefully rests along the shoreline. The most convenient ways to reach it are by hopping onto the Bakerloo or Northern Lines at Charing Cross, or taking the Piccadilly and Northern Lines from Leicester Square.
