Expressing it conversely, one could say that the eagerly awaited anime film, titled “Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Infinity Castle“, has generated such immense excitement that some ardent fans have found themselves in a precarious position, potentially facing imprisonment, as they attempt to profit from the movie’s success. This groundbreaking film launched the first instalment of a new trilogy on July 18th in Japan and has quickly climbed to the top of the all-time Japanese box office chart, surpassing even the previous record held by “Demon Slayer“‘s “Mugen Train” movie.
Fans worldwide will have to endure waiting until September for the release of the movie titled Infinity Castle. The movie is set to premiere in the US, Canada, and UK on September 12th. This creates a frenzy among fans who are eagerly trying to avoid spoilers online. On top of dodging potential spoilers, fans must also steer clear of leaked versions of the movie as Japanese fans are reportedly attempting to sell unauthorized uploads. However, according to The Sankei Shimbun, Japanese authorities are taking a firm stance against illegal sharing and have already apprehended someone using the Anti-Video Piracy Breathing form.
Demon Slayer Fan Arrested for Filming Infinity Castle
According to The Sankei Shimbun, a 24-year-old named Shim Jun-woo was apprehended for allegedly secretly recording the movie “Infinity Castle” during a screening in Japan. Prior to this accusation, Shim was taken into custody for suspected fraud involving the unauthorized use of someone else’s credit card to buy approximately 200 Blu-ray discs, amounting to about 1.3 million yen (around $8,500). The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department’s Otsuka Police Station seized Shim’s phone during the initial arrest, and they claim they found the entire “Infinity Castle” movie on the device. This footage was reportedly taken from the opening day screening of the film, which occurred on July 18th.
It’s not true that Shim filmed the movie for Infinity Castle. This isn’t the first time there’s been an attempt to stop leaks from this film. Back in May, a trailer for Infinity Castle shown before the Mugen Train 4K re-release was illegally posted online. As a result, the production committee had to send out legal notices.
Infinity Castle Is Already a Gigantic Success
It’s no secret that the movie “Infinity Castle” has been a massive hit at the box office, with its Japanese premiere on July 18th catapulting it to become the third-highest-grossing Japanese film of all time – and this success occurred before its release in any other country. Previously holding the top spot was “Mugen Train“, followed by Studio Ghibli’s “Spirited Away“. The bronze medal position, previously held by Makoto Shinkai’s “Your Name“, has now been taken by “Infinity Castle“.
On September 12th, “Infinity Castle” will debut in the United States. Its international rollout is anticipated to surpass the previous box office record set by “Mugen Train.
