Kate, Jon Gosselin’s Son Aaden, 21, Comments on Family’s Reality Show

Aaden Gosselin is looking back at his childhood TV moments. 

Approximately a decade since the conclusion of “Jon & Kate Plus 8” and its follow-up show “Kate Plus 8”, Aaden (now age 21) shared his fondest memories of the series during a recent live broadcast, spending time with his mother, Kate Gosselin.

As he said in an Aug. 15 TikTok Live video, “Probably anytime we went to Wyoming.”

Additionally, Kate (who is also the mother of Mady Gosselin, Cara Gosselin, Alexis Gosselin, Joel Gosselin, Hannah Gosselin, Collin Gosselin, and Leah Gosselin – all with her ex-partner Jon Gosselin) agreed.

“Oh yeah,” she agreed. “I was talking about it earlier how they sold the ranch in Wyoming—so sad.”

During their four-year TV tenure, the Gosselins visited Wyoming twice. First, in 2009, Kate went on a solo adventure with her sons to a dude ranch, as she was going through her divorce from Jon, who remained at home with their daughters. Later, in 2011, while filming their spinoff series, Kate and the kids took an RV trip to Jackson Hole.

However, Aaden reminisces fondly about certain aspects of the show, but more recently, his brother Collin has expressed concerns about the potential harmful effects he thinks the series had on him.

Collin penned on August 8th’s TikTok post, ‘Made for a team, us against the world,’ accompanying a picture of himself and his siblings. Later, the post displayed a selfie with the text: ‘Life compels us to go it alone, and I often ponder about the life we could have shared together.'”

In his post’s title, Collin, who has a friendly relationship solely with his sister Hannah and father Jon, commented, ‘Even with all the renown and wealth, what truly matters is allowing children to be carefree and enjoy their childhood.’

It’s not just Collin who has criticized the effects of being under the public eye; in 2023, Mady also spoke up against fans for their ongoing conjectures about the family’s private life and dynamics.

In a post on Instagram Stories, Mady expressed that we are genuine individuals leading authentic lives, not mere TV characters. This implies there is a vast amount of information about our lives that remains unknown to others. Mady encourages everyone to show kindness rather than picking sides.

The sextuplets Hannah, Collin, Alexis, Aaden, Leah, and Joel all celebrated their 21st birthdays on May 10, 2025. Kate posted pictures from the birthday celebration of the last four siblings.

Hannah celebrated her birthday with her dad and his fiancée Stephanie Lebo.

In 2024, Mother’s Day arrived two days after the sextuplets, Alexis, Aaden, Joel, and Leah (the ones who lived with Kate), turned twenty. On that day, Kate paid them a heartfelt tribute.

She posted on Instagram, “No underage residents here anymore! Happy 20th birthday, my eternal little ones! I adore you!” She also added, “Reminds me of how quickly time flies… #TwentyYearsOld #TurningIntoAPickle

Hannah shared new pics of herself on her and the other sextuplet’s 20th birthday.

On to the next chapter! The sextuplet graduated from high school in 2023.

Jon posted a photo showing Collin and Hannah, the sextuplets, graduating from high school in 2023, several years since they relocated to live with him.

Kate appeared with twin Mady and Cara in New York City in this 2019 pic.

On Instagram in 2022, Jon wished you a happy 18th birthday with the message: ‘Today’s your special day, so let’s shout it out! I love you, Dad.’

Jon Gosselin wished a joyful 15th Birthday to Hannah, Collin, Alexis, Aaden, Joel, and Leah on Instagram. He couldn’t believe they were already fifteen! Time seems to be flying by, he wrote. In the post, he is seen with Hannah and Collin. “I hold a deep affection for all of you,” he said. “May today and this weekend be the best birthday celebrations ever! Wishing you love and happiness always, Dad.

In 2018, Kate shared with her followers that her daughters, whom she still thinks of as little girls, constantly remind her of how many days are left until they turn 14. Today, Leah exclaimed ‘Only 12 days until we’re 14, Mom!’ which left Kate bewildered. ‘Aren’t you too young to be turning 14?’ Kate asked Leah. To this, Leah responded with a chuckle, ‘Yeah, I guess so. Are you sure it’s not 11 or 12 years instead?’ Kate reassured her that she was born to Leah and will always consider them babies. She expressed her deep love for them.

Kate Gosselin expressed her astonishment by saying, “I can hardly fathom it, but they’re now 13!” while celebrating a significant birthday for her sextuplets on Instagram.

Rewind to 2014 whenKate and her children found themselves visiting Alaska. 

Additionally, Kate Gosselin took her twin daughters Cara Gosselin and Mady Gosselin on a visit to New York City back in 2014, which included a stay at the Manhattan Hotel.
