As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that a fresh, complimentary Nintendo Switch Online title from Capcom has just dropped! This one’s a must-try for those who yearn for the good old days of the 3DS.
In case you didn’t know, being a Nintendo Switch Online subscriber grants you access not only to an array of NES, SNES, Game Boy, Sega Genesis, N64, and GameCube games, but also to free trials (or downloads) of Nintendo Switch and now, Nintendo Switch 2 games!
To make it even sweeter, a new free trial for a game that’ll tickle the fancy of Super Mario Bros fans has just been released. So, if you’re up for some retro gaming or want to explore the latest offerings in the world of Nintendo Switch, now’s your chance!
Not only does Nintendo Switch Online improve for SNES enthusiasts, but also for fans of the 3DS, to some extent, due to the inclusion of Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, which is the 2021 follow-up to the 2016 exclusive game for the 3DS, Monster Hunter Stories. At present, this Nintendo Switch sequel can be played in full for free until August 28, with the trial currently available exclusively in Europe. Historically, trials like this are usually released in North America following their debut in Europe, with a few exceptions. It’s uncommon for European Switch users to receive exclusive free trials, but it does happen occasionally.
Is This Enough Time to Complete the Game?
The video game titled Monster Hunter Stories 2 is a role-playing game (RPG) that’s quite lengthy to complete. On average, playing only the main story on Capcom’s game might take around 40 hours. If you include additional content, Nintendo Switch and future Nintendo Switch 2 users are looking at approximately 60 hours of gameplay. Completing everything within just six days would be quite tough, but it can be done. Those who accomplish this will have essentially gotten the game for free since they’ve saved $40 worth of time playing it!
Future of Monster Hunter
As a devoted fan, I can confidently say that Monster Hunter has soared to new heights, with Capcom’s beloved franchise reaching its pinnacle thanks to the incredible success of Monster Hunter World and now, Monster Hunter Rise. However, Monster Hunter Stories, the captivating spin-off, tells a different tale. While Monster Hunter Stories 2 was met with critical acclaim, as evidenced by its 81 Metacritic score, it hasn’t quite reached the commercial peaks scaled by the mainline games. At the moment, there’s no whisper of a Monster Hunter Stories 3 on the horizon, and it seems unlikely we’ll see one anytime soon, especially considering that Nintendo’s aging 3DS user base is gradually moving away from being the primary target market for new releases.
After discussing the topic, I’d appreciate your feedback. Do feel free to share your thoughts with us. By the way, are you planning on trying out the Nintendo Switch Online free trial? Moreover, might a new Monster Hunter Stories game catch your interest?
