James Gunn’s Superman movie is enjoying great success at the box office, as its themes of hope and humanity strike a chord globally, drawing large crowds to cinemas. The movie’s popularity is so high that the excitement for the upcoming DC Universe project featuring Supergirl is sky-high. Additionally, there’s Clayface slated for release in 2026, which aims to cater to a specific market instead of appealing to the masses, but still shows promise. However, Gunn won’t make fans wait too long for more from his franchise; another project is already on the horizon.
The second season of “Peacemaker” is now streaming on HBO Max, with just one episode released so far. This series has already established numerous links to the DC Universe, effectively severing any ties to the DCEU by means of retconning. Herein lies a list of 9 Superman characters that reappeared in “Peacemaker” season 2.
1) Superman

In the initial scenes of “Peacemaker,” the narrative revisits events from Season 1, yet with some changes. The team led by Christopher Smith, instead of appealing to the Justice League for assistance, turns to the DC Universe’s elite superhero team, the Justice Gang, in their battle against the Butterflies. Superman, among others, joins his comrades but receives a reprimand from Peacemaker.
2) Supergirl

In a critical situation for our planet, Superman’s cousin, Kara Zor-El (also known as Supergirl), heads to where Peacemaker is. Although they don’t interact, she seems less disoriented than in the end of Superman, when she visits the Fortress of Solitude, which could mean she may still have a chance to recover.
3) Mister Terrific

Instead of possessing the ability to fly like his allies, Mister Terrific doesn’t have that power on his own. Nevertheless, this doesn’t deter him from responding to a call for action, quickly securing his high-tech wheelchair, and readying himself to confront an alien danger. Although he arrives slightly later than others, he eventually gets the opportunity to display his skills when battling Lex Luthor’s minions.
4) Hawkgirl

In the course of Season 1, Hawkgirl initially crosses paths with Peacemaker. Later, they encounter each other when Peacemaker seeks to join the Justice League. Instead of finding the reformed villain intriguing, Hawkgirl amuses herself by mocking Guy Gardner. As a result, their second meeting doesn’t turn out positively. However, Hawkgirl manages to secure the popcorn she was hoping for in the process.
5) Green Lantern

Initially, I was often the target of Peacemaker’s jokes as Aquaman, but things have changed now, and Green Lantern has taken my place instead. Peacemaker alleges that Guy Gardner has an unusual fondness for vomit, a claim that he, Green Lantern, vehemently refutes. However, spreading such rumors ensures that Guy won’t be in Peacemaker’s corner during our upcoming interview. I, Green Lantern, am not too thrilled about this tactic, but it seems like a necessary move to maintain my reputation amidst the chaos.
6) Maxwell Lord

The individual responsible for overseeing the Justice Gang recruitment drive is Maxwell Lord, who – though he embarrasses himself during an interview with Peacemaker by failing to mute the microphone for extended periods – appears genuinely dedicated to ensuring that the right heroes join their ranks. Despite his blunder, Lord expresses remorse for his actions; however, by the time he completes his apology, the figure in the helmet (Peacemaker) has already departed.
7) Rick Flag Sr.

Lex Luthor successfully persuades Rick Flag Sr., a prominent military figure in the government, to support his mission aimed at defeating Superman. Unfortunately, this endeavor ends disastrously for Flag, but he remains determined to keep cleaning up the city. On Flag’s command, A.R.G.U.S. keeps a close eye on Peacemaker, ready to pounce on any mistakes he makes so that the head of the organization can exact revenge for the loss of his son.
8) Cleavis Thornwaite

In the story, the media significantly influences Superman’s narrative, as Lex Luthor exploits news channels to disseminate harmful information about the main character. Pushing his boundaries, Luthor even grants an interview to Cleavis Thornwaite, but things take a turn when the truth is revealed, leading Thornwaite to expose him. In Peacemaker, Thornwaite stays informed by reporting on events such as metahuman facility breakouts.
9) Peacemaker

The character who ultimately transitioned from being Superman to Peacemaker was none other than Peacemaker himself. In the year 2025’s film, he made an appearance on Thornwaite’s show to criticize Superman, a move that he likely regretted following his disastrous interview with the Justice Gang. However, luckily for him, moving to another Earth might offer Peacemaker a second opportunity to secure the hero position.
