This places the game at number 78 among all games on Steam with the most concurrent players, an impressive feat considering there are over 100,000 games available on the platform. What’s remarkable is that this has occurred just eight months after its launch, a period during which many games face difficulties in maintaining their player base. Instead, this game appears to be flourishing.

The game under discussion on Steam is “Delta Force”, developed by Team Jade and published by TiMi Studio Group. This team-based tactical shooter recently received an update that might have caused the surge in its popularity. While it’s now available on console, this wouldn’t affect its Steam engagement. Despite its popularity, “Delta Force” is sparking disagreement among both new and seasoned players.

Popular but Divisive

Since its release, there’s been a lot of interest in the game “Delta Force,” yet its “Mixed” rating on Steam indicates it might struggle to maintain its player base long-term. Notably, Valve’s recent update has improved the user review scores for numerous games, but this isn’t ideal for “Delta Force.” As of now, the game has amassed 54,743 user reviews with a 65% positive rating, which is not exceptional. However, most negative reviews don’t critique the game’s quality; instead, they highlight ongoing issues of cheating and hacking within the shooter. Fortunately, these problems can be addressed – Team Jade has stated they are developing solutions – but for the moment, they are negatively impacting the gaming experience for some players.

What Is Delta Force?

For individuals new to Delta Force, it’s a multiplayer tactical shooter game that provides three distinct modes. One of these modes, which resonates with many shooter enthusiasts, is large-scale combat featuring 32 versus 32 players – reminiscent of the Battlefield series experience. Besides this, it also offers an extraction mode and a campaign inspired by the 2001 movie Black Hawk Down. Despite its smaller roster, its main draw lies in the grand scale battles, a facet that has been noticeably absent in the absence of Battlefield over the past few years. However, it’s important to note that Delta Force does not currently support Steam Deck, unlike numerous other games this year, even one of the year’s most popular ones.
