Nightwing Just Created a New Kryptonian (And He’s Going to Remake the World)

As a dedicated comic book enthusiast, I must admit that Nightwing’s latest saga has left me utterly captivated – in a rollercoaster sort of way! Since Dick Grayson first graced the pages of DC Comics back in 1940, Nightwing has been an integral part of the universe, with his hero identity predating even Superman’s brief stint as Nightwing in the Bottle City of Kandor (1963).

Recently, however, our favorite caped crusader found himself ensnared within a Titans Tower tainted by Nite-Mite – a chilling embodiment of Nightwing’s own mythos turned against him! Amidst the whirlwind chaos, an all-new Nightwing has emerged onto the scene. He calls himself Nightwing-Prime, and let me tell you, his intentions are far from pure. This newcomer claims he intends to mend the world as he sees fit, but one can’t help but question whether these intentions will ultimately do more harm than good.

Stay tuned for updates on this high-flying saga – it seems our Nightwings are in for a wild ride!

Nightwing-Prime Is Born

In a peculiar turn of events, the enigmatic Zanni trapped Nite-Mite, a fifth-dimensional imp, in our three-dimensional world, causing him immense distress that led to transforming Titans Tower into the perilous realm of Titanis. Nightwing bravely ventured inside to save Babs and aid Nite-Mite, where he encountered Van-zee, Superman’s cousin from Kandor and the second incarnation of Nightwing. Together, they battled through Titanis, but Nightwing-Prime, who ruled over this world, saw Dick as a threat to its order and attempted to eliminate him. Remarkably, Barbara had been communicating with Nite-Mite during the chaos, successfully comforting him by likening Nightwing to the universal remedy of chicken soup – a symbol of love and care. Gradually, Nite-Mite reversed the changes he made to reality, but as the combat continued, Nightwing came to understand Nightwing-Prime’s true identity.

Originally, Bryce Morgan wasn’t known as Van-Zee, but rather, he was the altered version of Bryce who assumed the identity of Nightwing-Prime. As a boy of eleven, Bryce had lost his parents and his brother was tragically killed by the ruthless private soldiers of Spheric Solutions. He joined the Teddy Gang initially, but later chose to work for Nightwing after the hero stood up for all the gangs in Bludhaven against Spheric Solutions’ destructive plans.

Desperate to prove his worth to Nightwing, Bryce attempted to infiltrate Titans Tower undercover. However, during a crucial moment when Nite-Mite called out for help, he was unexpectedly transformed into Nightwing-Prime. As his former world vanished before him, Bryce embarked on a journey through space, maintaining his new form.

Now on his own, Bryce possesses the strength of a Kryptonian, the streetwise wisdom of a survivor, and an unwavering determination to make the world a better place, no matter what obstacles may arise or who might oppose him. While this path could lead to great achievements, it also carries the risk of disaster and catastrophe.

A New Hero, or New Threat?

Nightwing-Prime is determined to improve the world, demonstrating the noble spirit of Van-Zee, but also bearing the emotional scars of his former identity, Bryce, who aimed to aid Nightwing. However, we’ve witnessed that he would even take extreme measures like attempting to kill Nightwing to preserve order in Titanis, suggesting a willingness to overstep boundaries. Moreover, his mental instability is apparent with two conflicting sets of memories fighting within him. It’s precarious having a Kryptonian with such an unstable disposition around. Plus, it seems plausible that the Zanni, the mysterious entity, engineered Nightwing’s rise to power for their own purposes. The Zanni appears to be molding Nightwing into their desired Ringmaster for the Cirque du Sin, and is working towards creating a leader they can control. During this storyline’s initial arc, the Zanni orchestrated events in an attempt to make Nightwing assume leadership of Bludhaven’s various gangs, culminating in Bryce becoming his loyal follower.

Earlier, Nightwing had been attempting to help the boy live an ordinary life, but that’s no longer feasible. Now it seems he’ll need to take on a mentor role for the boy, much like Zanni had planned. Zanni appears to be subtly shaping Nightwing’s thoughts and actions, although we’re unsure of the exact reasons. What we do know is that it involves instilling fear of the circus, disrupting the established order, and bringing about consequences. The outcome for our hero remains uncertain, but for now, he seems to be falling in line with Zanni’s plans. However, if Zanni can manipulate a new Kryptonian to serve Nightwing so confidently or recklessly, it shows he’s either incredibly bold or remarkably foolish – both of which are extremely dangerous.
