The Magic Kingdom is officially decorated for the Fall season.
As a movie critic embarking on my annual autumn adventure in Orlando, I eagerly anticipate the return of the kids to school – a signal that the enchanting Halloween season is just around the corner, arriving as early as the second week of August. The town buzzes with excitement as Spirit Halloween Shops sprout up like pumpkins, Universal Orlando readies itself for spine-tingling Halloween Horror Nights, and over at Walt Disney World, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party kicks off, promising a magical experience that leaves me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.

What does that mean at the Magic Kingdom? It’s time for all the flourish of Fall!
What’s So Scary About Halloween in August? In Orlando – It’s the Weather!
At this moment, right now, the sound of a common thunderstorm in our town O Town is deafening. Trust me, it’s incredibly loud! Furthermore, the rain hitting my roof isn’t exactly quiet either.

When it’s not raining, we endure a Heat Advisory during the day due to high humidity and temperatures often exceeding 100°F, making even the most sheltered spots uncomfortably warm, even at Disney World.

Regardless, the first night of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party took place on August 15, 2025, which was a Friday. As a result, The Magic Kingdom was fully prepared and adorned for this yearly event, and indeed, it is ready to welcome guests with festive decorations.
High Temps? Just Ignore and Enjoy The Autumn Decor!
The fall decorations at the Magic Kingdom appeared to have been set up before my visit on August 14th, a day before Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party started, suggesting that they weren’t put up overnight as was once customary.

During autumn, Main Street, USA was beautifully decorated. Windows and rooftops were adorned with Fall bunting. Jack-o’-lanterns were carefully arranged in windowsills, while large pumpkins graced the areas before and behind the Main Street Train Station. Welcoming crowds to the front plaza were friendly scarecrows. And as a signature touch for Autumn at the Magic Kingdom, Mickey jack-o’-lantern wreath lights were hung on every lamp post along Main Street, extending all the way to Cinderella’s Castle.
Family Fall Fun Food! And of Course – The Merch!
Walt Disney World’s harvest season festivities include unique seasonal foods and merchandise, which are priced separately for guests.)
Swing by Aloha Isle this Halloween season to savor the limited-edition Dole Whip Mango & Chamoy Float, sprinkled with a zesty chili lime seasoning. Meanwhile, at Pecos Bill’s, don’t miss out on their scrumptious Pumpkin Pie mini churros! Enjoy these tantalizing treats and make your Disney experience extra special this fall.

At numerous dining spots within the Magic Kingdom, as well as various locations spread across the broader Walt Disney World Resort, you’ll often encounter seasonal menu items.
Fancy bringing home a replica of the well-known Mickey Pumpkin Wreath? It’s up for grabs at an affordable price of $99.99! And why not complete your purchase with a Halloween-themed popcorn bucket, roughly around $30? You might as well know that the unlimited refills are priced at just $2.25 each.
Here’s a more friendly and less pressuring way of expressing that:
The setting is all ready for every Disney visitor to enjoy an immersive experience filled with Fall festivities and Autumn magic! (Try not to let the heat under your costume bother you too much.)
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party – Tickets Still Available
If you’re 14 or older and you haven’t purchased a ticket for the Halloween Event, you can’t wear a costume. At other times, adults are welcome to “Disney Bound”, which means dressing in colors that resemble their favorite Disney character, but only at the Not So Scary Halloween Party itself are full costumes allowed for adults.

Although all shows in August are already booked, there are still plenty of tickets available for certain dates in September and October. If you’re still undecided, keep in mind that ticket prices for this event vary from $139 to $229 per person, depending on the specific date you choose.
As Halloween approaches, prices tend to rise. Therefore, if you’re eager to join in the fall celebrations, with its food, merchandise, and decor, your chance to immerse yourself in the autumn atmosphere ends on October 31st, 2025. That’s when a magical moment will turn the Kingdom into a Christmas wonderland!

The question left unanswered is if this year’s transformation happens all at once on a single night, or it spans over multiple nights. Savor the spirit of Halloween while you still can!
