Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins are adding another member to their band.
It has been announced that the couple known for the hit song “Die a Happy Man,” are expecting their fifth child together.
In the Instagram video posted on August 26th, Thomas strummed his guitar and crooned, “I was figuring out being a dad,” but life threw a unexpected curveball, altering their original plans. Now, Lauren is displaying a positive pregnancy sign – they’re expecting a baby.
The singer went on, standing near a fence with Lauren, “Five less than ten it is,” he said. “Well, here’s the thing. Yes, life transforms. One day you open your eyes and everything has shifted. Absolutely, life changes.
In the process, the writer who is a parent to Willa (9), Ada (8), Lennon (5), and Lillie (3) alongside Thomas, tenderly stroked her belly and displayed their recent ultrasound photo.
Accompanying his post was a message from Thomas that read, “It seems like more excitement at home as we have big sisters eagerly waiting. God sure is wonderful!
For the country music star, fatherhood has been a beautiful challenge.
He shared with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager on Today in February 2022 that things are incredibly hectic, but he wouldn’t trade it for anything. He explained, “We’re constantly finding our way through the chaos. We’re exhausted most of the time, yet we’re learning to live with tiredness. When Lillie arrived, some questioned whether this would affect our standing or if attention would be diverted.
It was especially difficult for their Lennon, who, until Lillie, was the youngest daughter.

Now, seeing them step into their big sister roles is truly among the most fascinating sights for me as a father. I can’t help but express my admiration – it’s simply amazing.
After they had children together, Thomas naturally settled into the role of a typical dad, doing so in an admirable manner.
On ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ in May 2021, he explained that his bus is packed with children’s toys. He’s been wearing shorter shorts, carrying a camera around everywhere, even a large one, trying to snap moments and fully immerse himself in fatherhood.
