In his own words, he felt compelled to publicly address the speculation about him online that had been circulating, as it could potentially cause harm. Rather than allowing others to tell my tale, I wish to express it myself,” Sawyer posted on Instagram on August 25th. “Over the last few years, I’ve learned and embraced the truth about being gay.

The 33-year-old remarked, “I’ve spent quite some time pondering over this aspect of myself and even more time gathering the courage to express it openly.

Sawyer, co-founder of Crumbl along with his cousin Jason McGowan in 2017 in Logan, Utah, expressed that acknowledging his sexuality was a daunting and sometimes terrifying journey. However, he emphasized that this experience has brought him an invaluable sense of peace, joy, and authenticity which he wouldn’t give up for anything.

Apart from that, he referenced his background as a Mormon, indicating that he was raised with moral principles and convictions that continue to hold deep significance and reverence for him, making his path more intricate.

Previously, Sawyer disclosed to Utah State Magazine, his former educational institution, that he was brought up in Southeastern Idaho and undertook a missionary service in Mexico for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

In his post, he expressed gratitude towards his foundation, acknowledging that even as he continues to accept and understand more about himself, this foundation remains significant.

The business owner was aware that revealing his identity might prompt doubts or judgments in some people. However, he remained optimistic that compassion, understanding, and affection would guide the process, allowing others to appreciate the significance of authentic living as they grasped the concept in time.

She can’t understand why this is such a challenge for her, as it shouldn’t be. However, she acknowledges that there seems to be something going on within her that she needs to accept.

In one episode of “The View”, a former contestant on “The Bachelorette” publicly announced that she was in a serious relationship with Robby Hoffman, a comedian whom she married in January 2025.

In the August 2023 episode, she explained that she had been discretionary about the matter due to its significance, stating, “I’ve been keeping things under wraps as it pertains to a larger tale and a broader discussion, given that I’m in a relationship with a woman.

She went on to say, “It seemed like a quiet voice within me that kept growing stronger, which I didn’t fully grasp at first. As this occurred, there was a sense of embarrassment connected to it, and I had to find my way past that shame to understand its origin and nature.

In January 2024, during an episode of Saturday Night Live, the star known for her role in Mean Girls, who was previously open about being bisexual, announced that she identifies as a lesbian. Her close friends were involved in her decision to publicly come out.

She shared with Billboard months later that there were individuals surrounding her who identified as nonbinary, transgender, or lesbian. She expressed, “I find immense joy in your company, and I find myself wanting to identify as a lesbian when I’m with you all.

The former late-night host officially came out as queer on the last day of Pride month in 2024. 

On the final day of PRIDE, she revealed her identity, stating in an Instagram post from June 2024 that this would not surprise anyone. Dressed in a top bearing the word ‘Queer’ on the front.

She said, ‘Take pride in your unique selves, my dear infants! I’m certainly proud of myself too!’ And she exclaimed with excitement, ‘I can’t wait to face discrimination again, this time for something fresh and different!’

As I reflect on my own journey, much like the Disney Channel alumna I’m thinking of, I too felt apprehension before stepping into the light and openly embrace my queer identity. The fear of judgment or rejection can be overwhelming, but finding the courage to express oneself authentically is truly liberating.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’ve been subtly revealing my sexual orientation for quite some time now, held back by apprehension about openly declaring it to the world. That is until last May when I confided in Gay Times. A year ago, I released a lyric video for ‘We Belong,’ an artistic piece featuring line drawings of people falling in love. There was something profoundly poignant about that moment for me, as the depictions were of a man and a woman locking lips – a moment that made me pause and reflect on my personal journey.

In Chrishell’s words to TopMob News, she emphasized that if someone genuinely cares for you, their contentment should always take precedence over their convictions. She advised against bending to other people’s expectations for your life, as it’s your journey and you only have one chance at it.
