In a modern take on the famous Roger Corman’s cult fantasy series, Deathstalker features Daniel Bernhardt (John Wick, The Matrix Reloaded) playing the lead character in this fresh adaptation. Notably, Patton Oswalt (Young Adult, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire) lends his voice to the kindly wizard Doodad.
In the realm of Abraxeon, it’s under attack by the Dreadites, followers of the ancient sorcerer Nekromemnon who no longer lives. After finding a cursed necklace in a bloody battlefield, Deathstalker becomes tainted with dark magic and is pursued by terrifying killers. To stay alive, he needs to lift the curse and confront the impending evil. However, death isn’t an end for him – it’s merely the start of an extraordinary journey!
In this new take by director Steven Kostanski (known for The Void and PG: Psycho Goreman), the story unfolds in a fantasy realm. Kostanski leverages his Action Pants FX workshop to incorporate physical creature costumes, prosthetic makeup effects, and stop-motion animation. Slash and Rodrigo Gudino take on executive producer roles under their BerserkerGang label.
Shout! Studios will release Deathstalker in theaters on October 10, 2025.
