Update [Thu 28th Aug 2025, 12pm]: Man, I can’t believe it’s only been a day since the free PS5 racer, CarX Street, popped up on the European PS Store. I’ve seen quite a few of you grabbing it and jumping into the action. It’s been an exhilarating ride so far!
Currently, the game continues to be offered at no cost, as was anticipated earlier, though the issue of charging for it has yet to be resolved.
If you haven’t done so already, please go ahead and make your claim. Rest assured, we’ll continue to monitor the situation closely and will inform you as soon as it’s resolved, including if Sony decides to rescind access.
Right now, the open-world racing game “CarX Street” is available for free to all PlayStation Plus members on the PlayStation Store – that’s if you’re based in Europe.
In simpler terms, the open-world racing game has received a considerable amount of positive feedback, earning a rating of 4.26 on Sony’s digital platform, following approximately 2,500 user reviews.
It seems there’s been an error, and the game is apparently available for free for PS Plus Essential subscribers until 10th September. I managed to grab a copy of it without any hassle, but just a heads up, Sony might fix the issue and potentially restrict our access once it’s resolved.
In other words, go ahead and give it a shot if possible, since it appears to be an error on Sony’s part. We’ll keep you informed once we have more information.
