In simpler terms, life has been particularly challenging for Spider-Man lately, possibly the most difficult in years. In a recent turn of events, he was brutally beaten by Hellgate and disappeared for weeks. Upon his return, Spider-Man has become more aggressive, dealing severe blows to his villains while distancing himself from loved ones in his personal life. The final issue of Amazing Spider-Man (2025), penned by Joe Kelly and illustrated by Michael Dowling, revealed a shocking truth – the new violent Spider-Man and the cold Peter Parker are two separate individuals, each accusing the other of being an imposter.
Currently, ComicBook offers an exclusive first look at the enlarged Amazing Spider-Man issue 11, which marks the 975th installment in its storied history. This remarkable comic book is brought to life by a star-studded creative team, with the main story penned by Joe Kelly and illustrated by John Romita Jr. and Pepe Larraz. In this special issue, readers will bear witness to the traumatic aftermath that Peter Parker endured following his abduction by Hellgate at the climax of their battle. The horrors he experienced are truly harrowing. As Spider-Man finds himself stranded far from home with no understanding of how to navigate this situation, it seems he may not even have the means to survive.
Spider-Man Lost In Space
In the sneak peek of issue #11 of The Amazing Spider-Man, Peter narrates, echoing his sentiments from issue #9 about only experiencing agony. We find a disheveled Peter, with long hair and beard, violently killing a creature resembling an alien rat. He then devours it instantly. Expressing that all he can manage is the fight for survival, the setting is revealed to be far from Earth, implying not only is he miles away from home, but also Spider-Man has no clue about his whereabouts. A wild, animalistic gaze in his eyes suggests he’s been mentally and spiritually battered.

We flashback to weeks prior, likely right after Peter arrived. He collects water with his shirt, and we watch as he traverses the barren landscape of the planet he’s imprisoned on. His wounds from Hellgate are evident as he stumbles, and most things he eats cause him to vomit. He becomes thinner and weaker, reminiscent of Hellgate urging him to get stronger. His mental state deteriorates, with him frequently screaming and the light in his eyes fading. But all the while, a mysterious figure stalks him. As Peter collapses, on the verge of giving up, the figure appears. They introduce themselves as the Prince of Steelsilk and tell Peter that he still has tasks to complete. At that exact moment, a ship materializes, pulling the resurgent Spider-Man into its glow.
