How Jason Kelce Has Transformed His Body Post-Retirement

Jason Kelce is embarking on a new phase of life, now that he’s retired from football. Since stepping away from the NFL in March 2024, the ex-Philadelphia Eagles center has experienced various changes such as transitioning into a sports analyst, welcoming daughter Finnley (joining siblings Wyatt, Elliotte, and Bennett) to his family with wife Kylie Kelce, celebrating brother Travis Kelce’s engagement to Taylor Swift, and initiating a weight loss journey.

In a March 2024 episode of their podcast “New Heights,” Jason stated, “I’m gonna slim down. My goal is 250.” He then had to figure out the best strategy for achieving this weight loss. The athlete shared, “I don’t follow extreme diets like going completely vegan or carnivore or keto. Instead, I downloaded MyFitnessPal and started tracking my calorie intake while ensuring I maintain my protein intake to preserve muscle mass.”

Travis Kelce, his brother, expressed confidence in Jason’s approach, saying, “This guy has a plan in place, and when Jason Kelce has a plan, it gets done.

A few short months ago, Jason disclosed that he had made some progress towards achieving his goal. To be specific, he told GQ in June that he weighed around 277 pounds, having lost nearly 20 pounds so far. He confessed it seemed challenging to think of losing another nearly 20 pounds, but admittedly so.

However, the Super Bowl champion (who revealed he tipped the scales at 295 pounds for much of his NFL career) could sense the improvements.

“My back feels better already,” he added. “My knees feel better too. Hopefully shedding another 20 pounds will make it even easier to play with my kids.

Even though, Kylie didn’t wish for Jason to undergo excessive changes in his physique.

On an October episode of the “Centered on Buffalo” podcast, he recounted, “I was working out the other day… Kylie said, ‘If you end up with a six-pack, I will be livid.’ I replied, ‘Well, it seems that’s not in the cards.'”

However, what ensued was a friendly contest between Jason and his former teammate Beau Allen, both aiming to reduce the most body fat percentage while simultaneously building muscle mass.

In response to your question, “Jason, who was 37 at the time, said on an episode of New Heights in March, ‘You’re still playing football because when you retire, you need crazy challenges like this to keep your mind sane.’ Regarding the wager, Jason – weighing in at 276.6 pounds with 21% body fat – stated that the loser would have to get a bikini wax and wear a speedo to an Eagles Autism Foundation fundraiser in June. True to his word, when Beau emerged victorious, Jason carried out the promise.

During this entire process, I reduced about 3% of my overall body fat and shed approximately 9 to 10 pounds of it,” Jason stated on a July podcast episode. “While I didn’t build any muscle, Beau managed to lose 2% of his body fat and gained 4 pounds of muscle instead. In my opinion, we both emerged victorious from this challenge, but admittedly, I was the one who ‘lost’ according to our bet.

Over time, the former NFL player has been consistently sharing updates about his fitness routine and physical changes. But there’s more to this makeover story. In August, Jason decided to dye his silver beard dark brown for a video promoting their business, Garage Beer, with Travis. However, he confessed that things didn’t turn out exactly as planned when he dyed it.

On the August episode of ‘New Heights,’ Jason expressed that the color wasn’t right – it was far too deep. He jokingly remarked that he seemed to have applied shoe polish on his face. In actuality, he felt a resemblance to Billy Mays. Yet, he admitted, “I miss my grays. I can’t wait for my hair to grow back.” Interestingly enough, he also found the dark beard growing on him. He added, “I have to admit, I think I look quite good with this dark beard.”

One constant through it all? His profound love for his family. To view photos shared by Jason and Kylie featuring their little ones, scroll down.

Last October, Jason Kelce and Kylie Kelce became parents for the first time, welcoming their beautiful daughter, Wyatt Elizabeth Kelce.

Their second daughter Elliotte Ray Kelce joined the family two years later.

A year following Elliotte’s arrival, Kylie announced that another “Kelce woman” would join the group, accompanied by a charming collection of photographs.

In February of 2023, the pair welcomed their third-born baby in mid-February, coincidentally just about two weeks following a fierce matchup between Jason and his sibling, Travis Kelce, at the 2023 Super Bowl.

In a post on Instagram dated May 2023, Jason proudly showed off his oldest daughters holding a massive trophy, expressing delight by saying, “I could never have imagined that I’d be the one to hold the Larry O’Brien Trophy, or that it would grace my home!

It’s a tremendous privilege to behold it up close,” he went on. “Its scale is astounding; it appears minuscule when NBA players handle it, yet it’s truly colossal! The girls showed great interest in it.

In August 2023, the family of five made their way onto the field, and on Instagram, Kylie playfully wrote, “Here for ice cream treats and obstacle course fun with dad after practice sessions.

In October 2023, Jason and Kylie celebrated Wyatt’s fourth birthday at the Philadelphia Eagles’ stadium. Kylie shared on Instagram that it was a special occasion as the team was undefeated with a 4-0 record, referring to the number four symbolizing both the birthday and the wins.

In June 2024, Kylie posted a picture on Instagram featuring Wyatt, Elliotte, and Bennett. She captioned it, “As parents, we’re okay with two out of three being great!

Jason’s mother, Donna Kelce, exclaimed delightfully, “What a charming group of ‘lucky charms’ hidden beneath that rainbow!!!

Jason and Kylie welcomed their fourth baby girl Finnley “Finn” Anne Kelce on March 30, 2025.

Kylie craddled her Finn in her arms after the baby’s March 2025 arrival.

Little Finn rocked a floral onesie shortly after she was born in the hospital.

The Philadelphia Eagles alum held newborn Finnley close in an Instagram photo shared in April 2025.
