The royal family is mourning the loss of one of its eldest members. 

On September 4th, Katharine, the Duchess of Kent, passed away peacefully with her loved ones nearby. This sad news was shared by King Charles III and Queen Camilla in a heartfelt message on their social media platforms. At the age of 92, she left us.

As a devoted follower, I sadly share the news that I am deeply saddened to announce the passing of Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Kent. On September 5th, this somber declaration was made by Buckingham Palace in a statement on X. My heartfelt condolences echo those of the King, Queen, and all members of The Royal Family, who are equally grieving alongside The Duke of Kent, his children, and grandchildren during this difficult time as we all mourn her loss together.

Charles and Camilla recognized Prince Edward, Duke of Kent’s wife for her lifelong dedication to every organization she was affiliated with. They will remember her fondly for her love of music and her compassion towards young people.

Katherine, known as Katherine Lucy Mary Worsley at birth, tied the knot with Edward in 1961 following their encounter while he was serving in the military at Catterick Garrison, not far from her childhood home. Their wedding, which bucked tradition by taking place in Katherine’s hometown in Yorkshire instead of Windsor, marked the start of the duchess standing out within the royal family.

In 1994, I, as a lifestyle expert, found myself venturing down an unconventional path by embracing Catholicism, contrasting my family’s traditional Protestant faith. This marked a significant departure, as no member of our family had followed this religious path since the Act of Settlement in 1701. This historic act dictates that anyone who converts to Catholicism or marries a Catholic disqualifies themselves from the line of succession for the throne.

2002 saw her securing a role as a music teacher at Wansbeck Primary School in Kingston upon Hull. At this establishment, she preferred to be known by the name ‘Katharine Kent’ instead of her royal title ‘Her Royal Highness,’ allowing her to keep a low profile among students and staff.

In a conversation with the BBC, I admitted my discomfort with being in the public eye, doing so with all due modesty. Truth be told, it’s just not in my character; I prefer working unobtrusively from behind the curtain. To put it simply, I’m an introverted individual.

Katherine is the mother of three children: George, who holds the title Earl of St. Andrews, Lady Helen Windsor, and Lord Nicholas Windsor, in addition to being a grandmother to ten grandchildren, according to her royal biography.

Approximately a year following the High Court’s decision not to provide further protective measures via the Royal and VIP Executive Committee, Prince Harry’s legal battle concluded on May 2 as the court dismissed his case.

After departing from their active roles within the Royal Family and relocating to the United States in 2021, the security provided for both Harry and Meghan Markle diminished. Nevertheless, during subsequent visits to the UK, Harry has asked for additional security arrangements to be made available.

The Duke of Sussex expressed deep disappointment after losing his court case on May 2, stating, “At present, I don’t foresee a situation where I would return my wife and kids to the UK.” He strongly emphasized this sentiment.

Harry shared with the BBC on May 2 that his father, King Charles III, has chosen not to communicate due to security-related matters. However, he expressed a hope for reconciliation.

Prince Harry, father of Archie and Lilibet, expressed a desire to rekindle relationships within his family. However, it’s up to his father to make the first move.

He mentioned that it seems unlikely he’d return his family, including his wife and kids, to the UK under current circumstances. He expressed regret that he won’t get the chance to introduce his children to his native land.

Harry noted, “My father has a great deal of influence and capability. In essence, he might be the key to resolving this situation. However, it doesn’t mean that he needs to directly intervene. Rather, it could be more effective if he steps back and lets the professionals handle things as they should.

Regardless of the prolonged disagreements, he’s signaling a desire for peace by raising a white flag. He also mentioned, “Life is valuable, I’m unsure how many more years my father might live.

About a year since King Charles revealed his cancer diagnosis, he penned on April 29th that his health voyage and cancer treatment have made him acutely aware of the most wonderful aspects of human nature.

For every diagnosis or new case, it’s understandable that it may instill fear and overwhelming feelings in affected individuals and their loved ones, as Charles explained in his booklet prepared for a cancer reception. However, having gone through this situation myself, I can confirm that it also has the potential to reveal the most compassionate aspects of human nature.

Additionally, he expressed gratitude towards the healthcare professionals who aided him during his voyage. He further emphasized that their efforts had intensified his admiration for the exceptional work carried out by the outstanding institutions and individuals present at the event tonight, some of whom he has previously interacted with, visited, or backed.

On Easter Sunday, April 20th, it was noted that Prince William, Catherine (Kate) Middleton, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis were absent from the yearly Easter service hosted by the royal family at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor.

As a devoted admirer reporting from the scene, I’m pleased to share that while King Charles III and Queen Camilla joined the royal family in their celebrations, Prince William and Kate opted for a quieter weekend getaway at their Norfolk country residence with their beloved children, according to various media outlets.

The second Easter that they missed was noticeable, as it came a week after the announcement by the Princess of Wales about her cancer diagnosis in the year 2024, and their absence was evident during this time.

On April 15th, it was officially announced that Jason Knauf has taken over as CEO for Prince William’s organization, The Earthshot Prize. In a statement posted on their website, he expressed his excitement to collaborate with the outstanding team and dedicated community, aiming to further our mission of fostering optimism for the planet’s future.

Approximately seven years following his initial complaint, he was promoted. This complaint was directed at Meghan Markle, who was alleged to have bullied two personal assistants and aimed to discredit a third staff member by undermining them. A representative for the Sussexes dismissed these claims, stating that they were part of a strategic defamation campaign using false and damaging information, according to The Times.

In 2022, investigations concerning the allegations at Buckingham Palace were completed, yet no results or findings from this investigation have been publicly disclosed.

At the UEFA Champions League Quarter Final match, held at the Parc des Princes stadium, the pair of father and son couldn’t wipe the grins off their faces as Paris Saint-Germain and Aston Villa FC squared off against each other.

The protective figure, Graham Craker, who was responsible for safeguarding both Prince Harry and Prince William from the royal family, passed away at the age of 77 in April.

Cracker was present among his friends when they found out that their mother, Princess Diana, had passed away. He also attended her funeral ceremonies.

In 2017, Craker shared with The New York Post that he stood at the back of the hearse. There, Prince William looked up and acknowledged him. Craker then nodded towards him, and it seemed that William found comfort knowing that Craker was with Princess Diana during her final journey.

Hugh Grosvenor, the godson of King Charles III, and his spouse Olivia Grosvenor announced on March 12 that they are expecting their first child together.

According to a representative, the duchess is due to give birth this coming summer. They shared that the couple are overjoyed by the news and eagerly anticipate beginning their family journey together.

Frederick, the child of Prince Robert and Princess Julie, passed away on March 1 at the age of 22, following a struggle against PolG mitochondrial disease – a seldom occurring genetic condition.

Frederik is like a superhero to me, our family, and many dear friends. This is largely due to his PolG Foundation, which has helped countless people worldwide. One of his special powers was his ability to inspire and lead by example.

 

The Duke of Sussex came to a legal agreement with News Group Newspapers, the publisher of both _The Sun_ and the closed-down _News of the World_, on January 22, following his lawsuit against them in 2019. The dispute stemmed from alleged illegal activities by journalists and investigators working for these newspapers, which they used to gather information about the royal family.

In this agreement, the company was expected to provide a significant compensation, also offering an unreserved apology to Harry, in addition to acknowledging publicly both the extensive media coverage and the intrusion into his private life, as well as that of Princess Diana of Wales, according to NBC News.

On January 14, it was announced by the Princess of Wales that she has been successfully treated for cancer and is now in full remission.

She expressed gratitude to be in remission and continues to prioritize her healing process, as she posted on X (previously known as Twitter) on January 14. It’s no secret that for those who have faced a cancer diagnosis, adapting to a changed reality can take a while.

She went on to express her anticipation, saying, “I’m excited about a rewarding year approaching, filled with many exciting prospects.

In simple terms, the Duchess of Sussex was saddened by the passing of her cherished rescue dog, whom she had taken in back in 2015, even before she met her husband, Prince Harry.

On Instagram, she posted on January 7th: “I’ve shed so many tears I’ve lost count – the kind of tears that lead you to step into the shower, hoping the water streaming down your face will miraculously erase them or make them disappear. But they persist, and that’s alright as well.

Meghan expressed gratitude for all the years of selfless affection towards her special ‘Guy’, saying, “Many thanks for the countless years of boundless love, my dear one”. She further mentioned that he had touched her life in ways that he may not even be aware of.

 

Edward “Ed” Pettifer, who is the stepson of Prince William and Prince Harry’s previous nanny Alexandra Pettifer (also known as Tiggy Legge-Bourke), was among those tragically affected by the terrorist attack that occurred on New Year’s Day in New Orleans.

As an ardent admirer, I was left reeling and disheartened upon hearing about Ed Pettifer’s devastating demise. In a heartfelt tribute, I conveyed my sentiments on the Duchess of Cambridge’s Instagram Stories on the 4th of January. My sympathies and prayers continue to be with the Pettifer family, as well as every innocent soul affected by this unimaginable tragedy.

On January 1, the former star of Suits, who deactivated her personal social media profiles prior to her 2018 wedding with Prince Harry, launched her own Instagram account.

In simpler terms, one day after that, she unveiled a fresh Netflix show called “With Love, Meghan“. As stated in a press release, this series innovatively combines useful tutorials with heartfelt discussions among friends, both old and new, by redefining the lifestyle programming genre.

In June 2025, Kate and William ventured out for an uncommon excursion with their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, to celebrate the occasion of Wimbledon.
