The secret about Superman’s upcoming sequel, titled “Man of Tomorrow,” is now public knowledge. In this continuation, Lex Luthor will try once more to cause trouble for the Man of Steel, but he finds himself in Belle Reeve prison after trying to destroy Metropolis with the intention of eliminating the hero who constantly haunts his life. Despite his incarceration, Luthor’s wealth and intelligence give him numerous options to escape before noon. However, there is one distinct approach he might consider.
It’s clear that LuthorCorp’s reputation is under scrutiny within the DC Universe, regardless of whether the boss is in custody or not. The actions taken against Superman, portraying him as a conqueror, have eroded trust in their statements. A comprehensive overhaul appears necessary for LuthorCorp. Fortunately, the DC Comics universe offers an opportunity to rectify this situation, potentially paving the way for Batman’s entrance on stage.
Lex Luthor Could Hand the Reins to Superman in the DCU

In the comic book universe, Lex Luthor isn’t exactly a youngster. He’s been plotting against Superman nearly as long as the Man of Steel has been around. Over the years, his criminal activities have landed him in jail multiple times. But in the comic series “Superman” by Joshua Williamson and Jamal Campbell, Lex Luthor doesn’t immediately plan his escape. Instead, he proposes to give control of LexCorp to Superman, transforming it into SuperCorp. His aim is to persuade Superman to abandon violence and use the company’s resources to address global issues. In essence, Luthor wants his greatest adversary to share his perspective on the world and the struggles that come with being a mortal.
As a devoted cinematic enthusiast, I’d love to see a fresh take on Superman’s journey in the 2025 film, potentially paving the way for an adaptation of Williamson’s story within the DCU. Intriguingly, Lex Luthor questions whether Kal-El truly grasps human nature, so why not challenge him by establishing ‘SuperCorp’ in the movie Man of Tomorrow? Instead of soaring through the skies, Superman could find himself in board meetings, working tirelessly alongside influential figures like Maxwell Lord and Ted Kord to bring about meaningful change.
Just when the film might seem a bit monotonous, our title hero might stumble upon an unexpected twist – another hero secretly holding down a corporate job as well! This could add an exciting layer of complexity to Superman’s story, making it even more relatable and engaging for audiences.
Bruce Wayne Would Be a Strong Ally for SuperCorp

From the start, it’s clear that Luthor intends to humiliate Superman. He could undermine one of Superman’s projects or force him into dealings with dubious figures. Regardless of the method, Luthor’s manipulations in the corporate world are bound to catch the eye of the world-renowned billionaire, Bruce Wayne. Recognizing that Superman is being misled by his innocence, Batman can scrutinize Luthor and approach Superman for the first time. It might take some persuasion from a figure in a bat suit to get Superman back on track, but he will listen, and they can then collaborate to bring down Luther.
In hot pursuit by two prominent characters, Luthor may need to unleash his most powerful weapons, like the warsuit seen in various depictions of the Man of Tomorrow. A significant confrontation might occur in the final act, where Superman and Batman discover they can rely on one another when push comes to shove. If James Gunn and team choose this path, there may be parallels drawn to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but it’s hard to avoid echoes of the DC Extended Universe. The decision-makers should not shy away from a course that enhances the DCU, especially one that unites its two most significant heroes and sets the stage for even more impressive events ahead.
Superman: Man of Tomorrow hits theaters on July 9, 2027.
