Jason Bateman‘s kids are far from arrested development.

At the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival on September 7, Amanda Anka’s daughters, Francesca (18) and Maple (13), who are now grown up, accompanied Juno star husband to the world premiere of his latest series titled “Black Rabbit.

On the infrequent family outing, Jason showed up dressed in a gray button-up and black trousers, while the producer of the Morning Show chose black satin capri pants paired with a coordinating buttoned vest. As for their teenage daughters, Francesca opted for a black sheer mini dress featuring flowing ruffles, and Maple wore a brown satin maxi dress.

The premiere is approaching approximately ten years since they last appeared together in public at Jason’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony in 2017. Despite maintaining privacy in their personal lives, Jason (formerly of “Arrested Development”) has offered occasional glimpses into his role as a father.

In 2014, he jokingly told The Daily Telegraph, “You’d probably need to ask my children to know the kind of father I am.” He feels confident in saying that he’s a good dad, and there’s plenty of fun had between them. He found becoming a father felt very natural to him.

He stressed that his marriage to Amanda, which took place in 2001, had the ideal timing for their family. The 56-year-old also mentioned that he married at just the right time, suggesting that this decision has led to a harmonious and pleasurable family life.

While the Emmy-winning actor appreciates his daughters backing his acting pursuits, he isn’t particularly enthusiastic about them venturing into the family business.

He mused that he might not be very encouraging, mainly because he believes every parent hopes their child chooses a career where dedication and excellence lead to steady employment and possibly even achievement. However, he noted that in the entertainment industry, success is less about merit and more about factors such as luck and intangibles.

If someone is new to the workforce, it would be wise to choose a career that offers job prospects and potentially decent wages, advancements, and long-term stability. However, I’d strongly advise them against pursuing careers other than these.
