Teen Mom’s Kailyn Lowry Slams Speculation She Doesn’t Raise Her Kids

Kailyn Lowry isn’t letting anyone tell her she’s a bad mom.

The former star of “Teen Mom”, who is a mother to Verse (21 months old along with Valley), Rio (2 years old), Creed (4 years old), Lux (7 years old), Elijah Scott’s child, and Elliot (15 years old, from her ex Jo Rivera) responded to comments doubting her parenting skills. A social media user had suggested that she relies on help for raising the kids, but the star defended her abilities.

In a TikTok video posted on September 7th, Kailyn expressed, “People often claim that I don’t take care of my children, but they’re mistaken. From 8 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday, I do have childcare. This is a typical working schedule.

Many parents enroll their children in daycare from nine in the morning until five in the afternoon,” she added. “Some hire babysitters and pay them for their services. I, too, follow this practice.

Despite sometimes needing babysitters, the 33-year-old ensures she always finds ample time for her children.

Kailyn made it clear that she doesn’t employ a full-time live-in nanny, meaning she doesn’t have someone constantly available to help her with childcare.

She expressed, “Later than 4 pm, should I require a babysitter, it’d come at a cost. It would really help if you could refrain from undermining the care I provide for my children.

Despite being fortunate enough to have in-home childcare, the reality star felt compelled to highlight all the effort she expends to ensure her children have a wonderful upbringing.

Kailyn pointed out that she does receive assistance, whatever the angle might be. However, she wishes everyone could refrain from undermining her efforts, and instead, it would be wonderful if they could appreciate them instead.

She playfully added, “I’ll leave it running here on TikTok for a minute. That way, I can earn enough to cover the childcare costs. Many thanks!

Indeed, the MTV celebrity has consistently striven to back her children, particularly evident when her son Elliot publicly declared his homosexuality.

In a June episode of her “Barely Famous” podcast, Kailyn expressed that when you have children, it’s crucial to accept and love them without conditions, as you can’t dictate who they fall in love with. You also can’t decide their sexuality. For Kailyn, this aspect never mattered much to her.

In her personal reflections about dating both men and women, Kailyn advised Elliott to freely discover his sexual orientation without fear of criticism.

In simpler terms, “If you ever told me that you wanted to marry a woman, I’d say ‘Cool.’ If instead, you told me you wanted to marry a man, the response would still be ‘Cool.’ The gender of your partner doesn’t matter to me because it’s not my life that is impacted. Only you are affected, and who you choose to love is entirely up to you.

Kailyn Lowry gave birth to her oldest son, Isaac Elliott Rivera, on January 18, 2010, when she was only 17 years old. Her partner at the time was Jo Rivera.

Even though they parted ways a year after, my exes have managed to establish a harmonious co-parenting setup that we both seem to agree works best for us. Following their marriage in 2018, as I had the pleasure of attending Jo and Vee Rivera’s wedding, I can honestly say it’s been quite a journey since our younger days. Now, I wouldn’t dream of asking for a more loving stepmother than Vee.

Growing up alongside him feels familiar, but in certain aspects, he seems more mature than I am.” This devoted fan of Olivia Rodrigo, who is also a musician and basketball player, was described as thoughtful, intelligent, humorous, and sometimes mischievous. The Delaware State graduate commended his compassionate nature.

She expressed that what truly captivates her about him is his ability to defy conventional societal expectations, as he is inquisitive and receptive, allowing him to develop unique perspectives and beliefs of his own.

As an ardent admirer of the extraordinary Elliott, who unveiled his transformation by adopting his middle name on his mom’s Barely Famous podcast in June 2025 and bravely revealed his gay identity, I wholeheartedly echo Kailyn’s sentiment. This remarkable individual embraces people exactly as they are, never imposing societal norms or expectations upon them. It is my firm belief that more individuals should emulate his compassionate and inspiring approach to life.

Lincoln Marshall, son of Javi Marroquin, became a team member on November 16, 2013. This was approximately a year after the well-known personality from Teen Mom 2 tied the knot with his father.

In the 2022 episode of her podcast “Barely Famous“, Kailyn characterized the tween as being extremely passionate about sports. This passion is evident in the way he spends a considerable amount of his time alternating between basketball and football matches. Furthermore, he celebrated his 10th birthday with an NBA-themed party, showcasing his admiration for Allen Iverson, his favorite player.

It’s no wonder that when naming his youngest brother, Lincoln suggested “Verse“, which is derived from Iverson, being an ardent basketball fan. Kailyn shared this detail in a TikTok post dated February 2024.

A standout among siblings, Lincoln is adored beyond measure. In a heartfelt tribute for his birthday in 2022, it was penned that knowing him is equivalent to loving him. He is intelligent, good-looking, and unparalleled as a brother.

Lux Russell Lowry has a soft spot for football, wrestling, solving puzzles like the Rubik’s Cube, and admiring the music and dance moves of Michael Jackson – these are some of his cherished preferences.

Kailyn’s first-born child, Lux, arrived on August 5, 2017, from her former partner Chris Lopez. Despite their relationship experiencing ups and downs over the years, Kailyn shared with TopMob News in 2020 that communication between them was nonexistent at that time. She expressed hope that things might improve with time, but she doesn’t have any specific expectations. She maintains a positive outlook and doesn’t want to say anything negative. She hopes for the best for their children, wishing for resolution in whatever way it may turn out.

Lux seems to be moving swiftly towards his destination, no matter which direction he goes. To celebrate his sixth birthday, Kailyn threw a WWE-themed party, stating that Lux has been giving everyone a run for their money since he was born and she adores him dearly!

As a lifestyle expert, I find myself reflecting on the journey of Creed Romello Lowry-Lopez’s arrival on July 30, 2020. In the weeks leading up to this momentous occasion, Kailyn found herself grappling with an immense decision that weighed heavily upon her heart.

In an interview with TopMob News shortly after Creed’s birth, she candidly shared her struggles, admitting, “I had kept the pregnancy a secret for so long because I was unsure about what path I would choose – whether to embrace motherhood or not.” This decision, she revealed, brought about a period of intense internal conflict that left her feeling overwhelmed and uncertain.

Embracing a new chapter in life, I found myself faced with an unexpected turn when it came to my relationship with Chris, Creed’s father. Yet, the moment I beheld that ultrasound image, it became crystal clear – my heart was set on moving forward together, come what may.

Just as his elder siblings showed, the podcaster developed feelings for the baby from the very start, as Kailyn shared with TopMob: “All three of them have requested to hold the baby and they’re incredibly affectionate towards him.

On his third birthday, she wrote ‘Creed. Romello. Mello. Romey. Rome. Biggie. Bigs,’ as it was a shared WWE celebration with Lux. She explained, ‘I can’t find the right words to express my love for this sparkler, so I’ll save the heartfelt moments for real life!’

Kailyn shared with People that she desired to share the story of her fifth son, Rio, on her own timeline and in her own words, choosing to keep his birth news private for some time following his November 2022 arrival.

Despite facing some challenges at birth, spending time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) due to breathing problems and lung fluid, he has proven to be an exceptional baby.

Elijah Scott, the new father for the first time, certainly deserves recognition. His ex-fiancé mentioned that he stands out among her other partners and their children’s fathers. “His work is quite different, involving physical labor such as pouring concrete,” she said. “Yet, he is not only a hardworking individual but also a dedicated family man. He has strong bonds with his own family, ours, making him an exceptional partner for me. I believe our relationship is a good fit.

It seems that her initial experiences with Rio, her fifth child, were particularly enjoyable and made her want to continue celebrating, as evidenced by her statement: “Kailyn admitted that being a mom of four was more challenging than five, but she believes this is because her fourth child is quite feisty. Her fifth child, however, is wonderful. He’s like the best baby in the world – if all her children were like him, she’d have ten more.

Cut to…

By the end of October 2023, Kailyn officially stepped into her motherhood phase for a second and third time, welcoming Verse and Valley, her two youngest additions born to her partner Elijah.

The valley, named after Kailyn’s childhood spent in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley, had a more extended stay at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) compared to her brother due to some challenges with feeding.

In a January 2024 episode of Barely Famous, Kailyn shared that she had never encountered a baby who didn’t stir or show signs of hunger during feedings. This particular baby would simply sleep through the feeding times and lacked any feeding cues. When Kailyn attempted to feed her, the baby refused to take a bottle.

Although Kailyn still frets over the twins’ relationship following their prolonged split, as she puts it, “I’m working on reforging their bond to bring them back to where they once were,” she’s ecstatic now that her family has been fully reunited.

She remarked that she feels appreciative, indebted, content, joyous, and whole. This wonderful situation has led us to expand our home. We feel incredibly fortunate. The babies are simply delightful.
