Japanese game development studio DESIGN ACT has unveiled an upcoming sports action title called “SPARK! PHOTON BLAST,” set for release on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam in 2026. The game will make its appearance at the Indie Game Corner during Tokyo Game Show 2025, taking place from September 25 to 28 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. Players will have the opportunity to try out this exciting new game during the event.
Here is an overview of the game, via its official website:
About
The “SPARK!” emotion projection system, designed for translating and expressing hidden emotions into activities, offers users a virtual reality environment where they engage with an array of feelings daily. Users assume different roles and express their deep emotions by firing a “photon sphere” at the core of the individual they wish to communicate those emotions to!

Story
30th Century AD, the world crumbled. A contagion swept across, isolating human connections, turning the globe into a place where unspoken emotions were entombed. Yet, amidst this chaos, a groundbreaking innovation to restore our planet emerged…
How to Play
This is a game set within a 360-degree virtual environment, enclosed by walls on every side. The players compete by firing spherical objects at one another, with the ultimate objective being to score points by maneuvering their sphere into the opponent’s goal. The game demands nimble reactions and strategic thinking.

Emo Shoot System
What sets “SPARK!” apart with its thrill is the unique “Emo Shoot System.” When you launch a ball into your rival’s court and it goes untouched, it bounces off the wall and returns. With each successful hit while chasing the returning ball, it gains power. If you manage to hit it three times in a row, the ball enters “SPARK!!” mode, enabling you to “disrupt” your opponent’s player and aim for the vacant goal!
