Despite no official updates from developer Insomniac Games about Marvel’s Wolverine, there are whispers suggesting they might soon reveal the game with a trailer. A new report claims that playtesters who have already tried early versions of the game find it quite impressive, as mentioned in the latest episode of Insider Gaming’s podcast by Tom Henderson, despite potential delays.
Henderson commented in the podcast, “It’s completed, but it was significantly delayed.” He continued, “Based on what I’ve learned from those involved in the project, the ransomware attack and data leak were factors, but the psychological impact when personal information such as addresses, social security numbers, etc., is exposed cannot be overstated.
Obviously, the delay has postponed the game launch. However, feedback from some testers I’ve spoken to is positive, indicating they find the game visually appealing. This bodes well for us, and hopefully, we’ll announce a release date within a fortnight.
Additionally, Henderson reinforced previous rumors suggesting that a State of Play is scheduled for mid-September, during which Insomniac Games is expected to formally reveal Marvel’s Wolverine to the public. As per Henderson’s sources, it is highly likely that the game will be shown with a fresh new trailer.
Apparently, a State of Play is expected towards the end of the month, and rumor has it that the Wolverine trailer is completed, according to a trusted source I’ve known for years. If this is true, it might mean that the Marvel’s Wolverine trailer will be unveiled at the September State of Play event. However, there’s a chance it may not appear there and could potentially show up at The Game Awards instead, given Geoff Keighley’s penchant for grand reveals. Alternatively, another event could be hosting the premiere.
It seems Insomniac Games hasn’t been sharing updates on the development of their title, but Sony hinted during a financial report that its release won’t happen before 2026. Similar timelines were mentioned for Marvel’s Wolverine and Naughty Dog’s sci-fi action game Intergalactic as well.
The latest update from Insomniac Games regarding Marvel’s Wolverine came in April, where they confirmed on social media that the game is still under development, and they will release further information as soon as they are prepared to do so.
The team is currently developing Marvel’s Wolverine for PS5, as they shared on social media. They plan to announce details about the game only when they are prepared to do so. This has always been their approach. They can’t fulfill every request because some things require time, resources, and approval before they can be disclosed.
I’m absolutely thrilled to share that back in 2021, we got some incredible news as fans – Marvel’s Wolverine was announced! This epic adventure is set to launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 once it officially arrives. Can’t wait to dive into the world of claws and adamantium!
