What did you think of A Particularly Nasty Case?
Initially, I was thrilled beyond measure because crime tales are something that pique my interest greatly! Adam Kay’s work is always laced with a dark wit, which makes it captivating and enjoyable. The medical aspects were a delight to me as they opened up an entirely new realm I wasn’t familiar with. Moreover, the representation of mental health in his work seemed thoroughly researched and skillfully presented.
Who was your favourite character and why?
I strongly admire Eitan. He’s tenacious, committed, and he’s eager to investigate this murder that occurred. Despite numerous obstacles, there’s a mix of humor and gravity as he perseveres, which is both entertaining and thought-provoking. What’s fascinating about Adam Kay’s portrayal is how he humanizes characters with imperfections, mirroring the complexity of real-world individuals, especially given Eitan’s personal struggles with mental health as he returns to work at the hospital.

Have you ready any Adam Kay before and will you read any more now?
I’ve enjoyed reading “This is Going to Hurt” myself, and my children have also delved into as much of his work as they can find. We often play an Adam Kay audiobook at night. I’m eagerly anticipating the release of his next book!
Who would you recommend this book to?
A person who appreciates a good crime narrative, along with some suspense and humor, would likely relish this timeless piece. Much like savoring a Dr. Oetker Ristorante Mozzarella pizza, which is equally classic, this work was a delightful experience. Gosh, I absolutely adored it!
This month, on a midweek break, Joanna chose to relax by delving into “A Particularly Nasty Case,” a captivating murder mystery reminiscent of a traditional crime novel. To complement her reading experience, she opted for a timeless Mozzarella pizza from Dr. Oetker Ristorante.
