Liam Neeson’s shocking child grave scandal film

Liam Neeson’s film, “The Shocking Child Grave Scandal,” is based on an appalling real-life incident that surfaced in 2017. Catherine Corless, a history enthusiast, was investigating the Bon Secours Mother and Baby Home in Tuam, County Galway, for a local historical society. Her research led to a heart-wrenching revelation: as many as 796 children might have been buried in unmarked graves on the premises. This discovery sparked a movement for justice for both the victims and survivors of the home. Excavation of the mass grave didn’t start until the summer of 2025.

Filming for the movie “The Lost Children of Tuam” is currently in progress, with Frank Berry serving as the director. The screenplay was penned by Rebecca Lenkiewicz (known for “The Salt Path” and “She Said”), inspired by Dan Barry’s New York Times article titled “The Lost Children of Tuam,” published in 2017.

Award-winning actress Monica Dolan, known for her roles in “Sherwood” and “Mr Bates vs The Post Office”, has been chosen to play Catherine Corless. Joining her are Andrew Bennett, recognized from films like “God’s Creatures” and “The Quiet Girl”, and Ian McElhinney, famous for his work on “Game of Thrones” and “Derry Girls”. Liam Neeson, who acquired the rights to a New York Times article, will produce the film under El Paso Films.

Catherine Corless expressed her gratitude by saying, “It’s an immense honor for me to know that a committed, skilled, and prominent film crew is producing this movie. The movie documents my challenging journey since I uncovered the truth about Tuam, as well as the hurdles I faced in revealing it. It’s also striking to see how dedicated Frank Berry and his team are in ensuring truth prevails, a quality that has been integral to my long pursuit. A good film lives forever, and I am confident that ‘The Lost Children of Tuam’ will shine among them.

Liam Neeson stated, “I’m incredibly honored and proud that after eight years of preparation, we’re finally starting production on a powerful story about one woman’s relentless quest to uncover the shocking truth behind the events in Tuam. This revelation has deeply affected our nation and continues to resonate throughout our society. The truth will come to light.
