Ne-Yo just can’t pull himself away from his four girlfriends.
The singer known for “Closer,” being involved in a multi-partner relationship with Cristina (nicknamed “Pretty Baby”), Arielle Hill (“Twin Flame”), Moneii (“Phoenix Feather”), and Brionna Williams (“Sexy Lil’ Somethin'”), has an Alaskan King-sized bed at his residence.
He told YouTuber Kai Cenat during a September 10th livestream, “Imagine two California King-sized mattresses placed side by side; you need a bed of that grandeur made.
Though Shaffer Chimere Smith, better known as Ne-Yo, clarified that he doesn’t have a legal marriage bond with any of the ladies, he regards them as his “partners for life” or “spouses in spirit”.
The 45-year-old stated, “My romantic life is fantastic, and I feel fantastic too. I am accompanied by four wonderful women who are a constant part of my everyday life.
In March, Ne-Yo unveiled to the public that he’s given each of his girlfriends a unique pet name.
Because everyone’s eager to know, let me formally present my treasures: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, MEET MY PYRAMID,” he posted on Instagram back then.
For the Grammy-winning artist, maintaining a successful plural relationship relies on open and honest communication. As he explained, they have established distinct boundaries together, such as not allowing their girlfriends to pursue relationships with others.
During an interview on The Angie Martinez Show on April 10, Ne-Yo explained that when he began relationships with these women, he didn’t insist on their exclusive commitment. Instead, they were the ones who initiated the idea of exclusivity. He clarified that their exclusivity towards him did not automatically mean his reciprocal exclusivity. He made sure to confirm with them that they understood this and were comfortable with it.
As a dedicated follower, I’d like to share that the artist behind “So Sick” once expressed his relationship philosophy: he prefers to be straightforward and honest, or as he put it, “just keep it real,” with his partners. This was his approach during his marriage to Crystal Renay Williams from 2016 to 2023.
“We’re not gonna lie to each other,” Ne-Yo added. “We’re not gonna sit up here and blow smoke.”

For RuPaul and his spouse Georges LeBar, maintaining an open relationship seems natural and practical, as RuPaul articulated to The New Yorker in 2024. In essence, they believe monogamy is unrealistic for men.
Ultimately, it was a logical choice for the couple.
RuPaul’s Drag Race star explained to Vanity Fair in 2019 that their relationship wasn’t something they consciously decided on. Instead, he pointed out that the idea of monogamy as a sustainable lifestyle is often a myth. He wouldn’t want to impose restrictions on the person he loves most on Earth, adding that he wouldn’t do such a thing to someone he cherishes deeply-his dearest friend.
Having an open marriage hasn’t led them to question their love for each other. As RuPaul put it, “If something arises that you can’t resist and will bring you joy, pursue it. Pursue it, because the truth is, I know in my heart of hearts like never before, that man loves me more than anything else in this world.
Kody Brown, at one point, expressed that love should be increased rather than decreased. For several decades, he was involved in a multi-wife relationship, including Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, Christine Brown, and Robyn Brown – as depicted on the show “Sister Wives.” In the initial episode of 2010, Kody shared that he had fallen in love multiple times, saying “I fell in love, and then I fell in love again and I fell in love again.” However, his affection for polygamy has waned over time. Christine and Kody announced their separation in November 2021, with Janelle and Kody confirming their split in December 2022. A month later, Meri revealed the decision to end their marriage permanently. As a result, Robyn is now Kody’s only spouse.
As a follower who has personally dabbled in and experienced the complexities of plural marriage, I have learned firsthand about its challenges. Therefore, I strongly advise being extremely discerning when it comes to who practices it, and how they go about it.
In my opinion, despite its potential success for some individuals, there are marriages that, no matter how well the parties involved know each other, still crumble.
Some of my former partners have moved on to embrace monogamy – take Christine, who tied the knot with David Woolley in 2023 and expressed on the show that she wouldn’t revisit polygamy again. Others, such as Janelle, have stated they might consider another plural marriage.
As for my wife Robyn, she shared during a 2024 episode that she would contemplate plural marriage once more if she could promise a “positive and successful experience.
At a 2021 episode of Red Table Talk, Willow Smith, daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, opened up a conversation about non-monogamy. She expressed that polyamory allows for the creation of a relationship style tailored to one’s needs, rather than blindly following societal expectations of monogamy. Jada and cohost Adrienne Banfield-Norris listened attentively as Willow shared her thoughts.
Willow argued that infidelity is often the cause of relationship issues or divorce in monogamous relationships. She questioned whether one should restrict their partner’s desires just because they don’t have the same needs, citing an example where a partner may desire more frequent sexual activity than oneself.
However, Willow also admitted that she and her friends didn’t always agree on these matters. When Adrienne raised questions about sex, Willow revealed that despite being the only polyamorous person in her friend group, she has the least amount of sexual encounters among them.
Shailene Woodley emphasizes that the opinions that truly matter in a relationship are those of the individuals involved. She has had experience with both open relationships and deeply monogamous ones, and she feels that in today’s era, each partnership should establish its own rules. However, there must always be accountability within any relationship dynamic, which can be ensured through honesty, communication, and trust. Beyond those essential elements, it is not our place to judge what others decide to do with their lives.
Even if fans express disapproval towards Ne-Yo’s polyamorous relationships, he seems unfazed by it, as evident from his Instagram posts in February where he stated “I don’t care.” Interestingly, Ne-Yo-previously married to Crystal Renay for nearly seven years until their divorce in 2023-revealed four of his girlfriends to the public in March.
During an episode of the Rickey Smiley Morning Show in February, the Grammy winner shared his thoughts about polyamory. He stated that everyone involved is honest, truthful, and consensual. He admitted that he had spent a considerable amount of time being dishonest about certain aspects of his life, and if he had approached polyamory earlier, he might have spared himself much trouble. However, Ne-Yo made it clear that he’s not suggesting everyone should follow his path. Instead, he is simply sharing what works for him personally, and if others find it suitable, that’s great. But if they don’t agree, he respects their opinion as well. His ultimate message is that he has never been happier or more at peace than he is now with his chosen lifestyle.
Nick Cannon has been open about his unique approach to parenting, which involves raising children with multiple women. In an interview on The Breakfast Club in 2021, he expressed his views on monogamy, stating that the idea of being with one person for life is a Eurocentric concept and can be seen as a form of property ownership. Instead, he believes that coexistence should be about creating meaningful exchanges.
Nick shares twins Moroccan and Monroe with Mariah Carey, children Golden Sagon, Powerful Queen, and Rise Messiah with Brittany Bell, son Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi, and daughter Onyx Ice with LaNisha Cole. He also has three children with Abby De La Rosa-twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir as well as daughter Beautiful Zeppelin-and two with Alyssa Scott: daughter Halo Marie and late son Zen.
According to Nick, the women who decide to let him into their lives and bear his children are making that choice, not him. He sees himself as following suit rather than making the decision.
Since 2022, Bella Thorne has been exclusively with her fiancé Mark Emms, but she’s previously explored non-monogamous relationships. In 2019, she shared with Cosmopolitan that she enjoys this lifestyle, finding it exhilarating to love more than one person at a time. She cherishes sharing stories and experiences in the company of multiple people. However, she acknowledges that this approach may not suit everyone. As she puts it, ‘A lot of my partners start out like ‘what?’ and I’m like, ‘Bro, this is who I am.’ So, you’re either on board or not, and I respect that choice. At this stage in my life, I’m seeking what truly brings me happiness, and I’m committed to finding it. If someone doesn’t share this goal with me, then we might not be a good match at the moment.
As for Yungblud, he’s shared he identifies as pansexual and polyamorous.
In 2020, Dominic Harrison, the musician, revealed to Attitude that he identifies as polyamorous. He explained that earlier in his life, he was unsure of his sexual orientation. Through interactions and conversations about sexuality and gender with others, he came to understand and realize that he might fall under this category.
Bob the Drag Queen, in an episode of Boyfriend Material With Harry Jowsey from April 2025, shared that he has partners in Los Angeles and Georgia. He mentioned that they are acquainted but not overly close. Interestingly, both his partners have their own partners as well, which suits him just fine. Being an independent person, Bob finds the notion of being someone’s sole focus somewhat draining. Instead, he appreciates having some space by having each partner maintain a relationship independently.
In 2018, actors Nico Tortorella and Bethany C. Meyers got married and wrote an essay about their unique relationship. The author of “I Am More Than My Body” explained in an article for “Them” that they are in a queer polyamorous relationship, but they don’t let these labels define them. They didn’t plan to be in a multiple-love relationship; it evolved naturally over the course of 12 years.
During the coronavirus pandemic and the arrival of their children, Kilmer and Pesce Pearl, their relationship shifted to monogamy. However, on an episode of their podcast “Full of Shift” in 2024, Tortorella, who is known for his role in “Younger”, clarified that they are currently closed to additional relationships but are open to reconsidering non-monogamy in the future.
From Omarion’s point of view, traditional monogamy doesn’t quite resonate with him. As he shared during a February 2025 episode of “Sherri,” open relationships are significant to him.
In his words, “The number of women is significantly greater than the number of men.” He further explained this to host Sherri Shepherd, stating, “There are only a few good men. Whether it’s about physical attraction or raising the next generation together,…why not have our queens join us in this? It takes a village. It won’t just be one man. Even when you get married, that man won’t solely be yours. He will be there for his daughter, he will be there for his mom, his grandmother.”
Omarion believes that the idea isn’t entirely new; it merely requires an update. He advocates for more open discussions on the topic.
“I appreciate this discussion because I think when men are honest about not wanting just one partner for the rest of their lives, it gives women the chance to make a choice and better understand a man,” the musician said. “Because I believe that many women don’t truly understand a man. While some do, there’s a broader conversation that needs to be had about understanding men and how we’re meant to spread our offspring.
