Dakota Johnson is rocking fifty shades of sheer.
At the Kering Foundation’s Caring for Women dinner in New York City on September 11, a Materialist fashionably showcased an extraordinary interpretation of the transparent gown.
For the event, Dakota chose a long, semi-transparent black Gucci gown featuring intricate lace work, which subtly revealed her skin beneath. To maintain modesty, she matched it with a coordinating bra and underwear set.
In terms of her accessories, at the age of 35, she allowed her striking fashion choices to take center stage. She styled her hair elegantly in an updo hairstyle, accessorized with a tennis necklace, and completed the look with matching silver earrings.
Indeed, Dakota wasn’t the only noteworthy figure who drew some glances at the Kering Foundation event. For instance, Lauren Sánchez Bezos graced her first red carpet since marrying Jeff Bezos in June. Additionally, Colman Domingo, Winnie Harlow, Demi Moore, and Adrien Brody also made their mark on the night, striking poses in high-fashion outfits for the cameras.
Even though this outfit might be her boldest fashion choice yet, Dakota has previously captivated us with sheer outfits recently as well. Last month, for instance, she turned heads when she wore a black see-through long-sleeved midi dress in New York City.
For Dakota, trying out different outfits comes naturally – it’s her hairstyle she tends to be more hesitant about changing.

In a August 20 interview with Etalk, Dakota admitted that she has a strong emotional connection to her hair, beyond just the physical attachment. She pondered the idea of changing things up, but seemed uncertain about doing so.
In terms of her professional life, she has no immediate plans to switch from making romantic movies. As Dakota aptly expressed while discussing her role in the upcoming movie adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel “Verity,” she is deeply fascinated by love and love stories.
She added, “It’s so much a part of our human development and our journey.”
