Vin Diesel Teases Late Paul Walker’s Character Could Return in ‘Fast 11’

Vin Diesel shares some exciting news about the long-awaited finale of the Fast and Furious series, hinting at a surprising appearance from an unanticipated guest.

57-year-old Diesel was seen alongside Fast co-stars Tyrese Gibson and Cody Walker, Paul Walker’s brother, during the Fuel Fest on June 28th. They were there to hint at the upcoming installment in the action series.

In a conversation reported by Variety, Diesel stated that the studio asked him if they could release the finale of ‘Fast and Furious’ in April 2027. He responded with three conditions: first, he wanted the franchise to return to Los Angeles; second, he insisted on revisiting the car culture and street racing; third, he emphasized the importance of reuniting Dom and Brian O’Conner.

From the first seven movies, Paul played the character Brian, but sadly, he passed away in 2013 due to a car accident at the young age of 40. It remains unclear how Dom, portrayed by Vin Diesel, would reconnect with Brian in future films given Paul’s tragic demise.

In the Fast movies, Brian isn’t dead; rather, he’s chosen to quit street racing to devote time to his wife Mia (Jordana Brewster) and their kids. There were hints of Paul’s character in 2023’s Fast X as well.

As an ardent admirer, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the latest installment of the franchise, and here’s what director Louis Leterrier shared with Total Film: “In this film, you’ll journey back to Brian’s past, but not find him in the present. It’s a crucial aspect that everyone needs to be on board with. The Walker family remains central to this saga, and you’ll witness their continued role in this movie. However, it has to be at the right juncture, with the perfect tone.

Paul’s siblings, Cody (age 37) and Caleb Walker, have both appeared in the Fast films, just like Paul’s daughter, Meadow, who had a brief appearance in Fast X as a cabin crew member.

As a passionate advocate for community support and automotive culture, let me share with you about my favorite annual event: FuelFest. This extraordinary car show isn’t just about showcasing stunning vehicles; it serves as a platform for giving back to those in need. You see, the funds raised at FuelFest go directly to Reach Out WorldWide (ROWW), a remarkable nonprofit organization I have long admired. ROWW was founded by Paul in 2010 with a mission to empower individuals worldwide to respond swiftly and effectively to natural disasters, providing much-needed aid to those affected. By attending FuelFest, not only are you treated to an incredible automotive spectacle, but you’re also contributing to making the world a better place—one disaster response at a time.

As a devoted follower, I’m proud to share that Tyrese and I have managed to gather approximately half a million dollars through FuelFest and our collective efforts. This achievement, disclosed to Us Weekly in May 2024, fills us with immense pride. Not just because of the amount raised, but because this is a piece of Paul’s legacy that we are privileged to uphold. It’s an honor for us to have such a good time and contribute to something he would have appreciated, keeping his dream vibrant and alive.
