Harley Quinn is known for being unpredictable and loves to shake things up, which means she’s often joining or forming new teams. Originally known as Harleen Quinzel and closely tied to the Joker, she’s evolved into a fully realized character with her own friends, foes, and even several ongoing comic series. It’s remarkable that she’s become one of DC Comics’ most popular antiheroes. Though she’s perfectly capable of working solo, Harley always seems open to teaming up with others, particularly when it allows her to embrace her wild side.
Harley Quinn has a history of working with various teams, including the Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey, and Gotham City Sirens. No matter who she partners with, you can always expect Harley to add a bit of chaos and excitement – or at least a few unexpected problems. She also tends to exaggerate her collaborations with more traditional heroes. For instance, she claims to have helped Wonder Woman in *Harley’s Little Black Book #1*, but Wonder Woman probably didn’t ask for – or even appreciate – the assistance. Still, Harley’s intentions were good, weren’t they?
Before we begin, it’s worth mentioning Harley Quinn and the Joker, though not as a successful team-up. While they’re famous as a duo in DC Comics, their relationship was deeply unhealthy. It was unbalanced and caused Harley a lot of pain, and the Joker never treated her as an equal. Because of this, it’s difficult to see them as true partners.
8) The Gang of Harleys
Though she’s known for being unpredictable, Harley Quinn has surprisingly inspired a lot of heroes and antiheroes. She even created her own group, called the Gang of Harleys, who first appeared in *Harley Quinn #16* and later in *Harley Quinn and The Gang of Harleys*. The story starts with Harley wanting a change of pace, so she moves to Brooklyn and recruits a team of people to help her improve the city. Essentially, Harley formed the Gang of Harleys as part of her journey to become a better person, moving away from being a villain and towards becoming an antihero.
Initially, eighty people applied to join the Gang of Harleys, but Harley narrowed it down to just a few members, including characters like Harlem Harley, Carli Quinn, and Bolly Quinn. Though they haven’t been very visible recently, it’s likely the Gang of Harleys are thriving, thanks to the lessons they’ve learned from a master antihero.
7) Zatanna
If you’re a fan of Harley Quinn’s wild adventures, you should definitely read *Harley’s Little Black Book*. The series takes her all over the DC Universe – there’s even an issue where she’s a Green Lantern! But we’re focusing on *Harley’s Little Black Book #3*, which teams up Harley Quinn with the magical Zatanna.
Harley’s attempting a fresh start away from Gotham and her old life, but things quickly went wrong when a ruined mansion released a swarm of ghosts. They decided to haunt Harley’s new place, which she definitely wasn’t okay with! She immediately sought help from the powerful magician Zatanna, and luckily, Zatanna agreed to assist. Together, they tried to convince the ghosts to move out – and it was as wild and crazy as you’d expect, perfectly fitting Harley’s usual brand of chaos.
6) Batwoman
As a fan, it always surprises me to see unexpected team-ups, and Batwoman and Harley Quinn is definitely one of them! They first teamed up in *Harley Quinn #15* back in 2022. The story kicks off with Harley being wrongly accused of murder – she immediately knew she was being set up, but had no idea who the real killer was. It was a really interesting start to their adventure!
Harley Quinn turned to Batwoman for help, knowing she was the only one she could trust to investigate and actually listen to her side of the story. This was crucial because Batwoman didn’t think Harley was guilty, making her a valuable ally. Their unlikely partnership is both strange and charming – Batwoman respects Harley, even though she’s often baffled by her rambling thoughts. They also gain a helpful third teammate, Jaylin Shaw from the police department, which is exactly what they needed to prove Harley’s innocence. It might seem surprising that anyone would want to clear Harley’s name, considering her past, but she’s been working hard to change her life, and she wasn’t about to let this accusation stand.
5) Lex Luthor
Harley Quinn has shown up in various DC comics and storylines, even in alternate universes. One interesting team-up happened in the *Gotham City Garage* series. There, surprisingly, Harley uses her skills as a psychologist to help Lex Luthor! She assists him in perfecting a mind-control device, aiming for a functional tool rather than one that simply drives people insane.
Don’t worry, Harley won’t be working with Lex Luthor for long. She quickly realizes he’s using a device to control people by taking away their ability to think and feel for themselves, which motivates her to break free and start her own fight against him.
4) Power Girl
Power Girl and Harley Quinn teamed up in a memorable comic book series. The story starts with Harley breaking free from the Joker, and Power Girl dealing with recent amnesia, which complicates things for her.
Harley, predictably, seizes the opportunity and talks Power Girl into becoming a crime-fighting team. They embark on a heroic space mission, just like any superhero duo would. While the partnership is built on shaky moral ground, the story shows Harley’s ongoing effort to improve herself. She often believes this means becoming a traditional superhero – she likes to think big and make a real impact.
3) The Riddler
Harley Quinn used to hang out with villains for a long time, so it’s not surprising she’s teamed up with a lot of bad guys. One notable instance happened during a significant DC event called *Battle for the Cowl: The Underground*. This event was pretty big, so even people who don’t usually read comics probably noticed the impact. It’s during this time that Harley ended up working with The Riddler.
The story starts with the Penguin hiring the Riddler to find Black Mask. It was a clever decision, since the Riddler is uniquely skilled at hunting down other criminals. Surprisingly, the Riddler then asks Harley Quinn for help with the task. Their search leads to several unexpected discoveries, including a chance encounter with someone pretending to be Batman – but it’s not Hush this time around.
2) Catwoman
It might surprise you, but Harley Quinn and Catwoman have teamed up many times, beyond just big DC storylines. They’ve worked together in series like *Gotham City Sirens* and *Gotham Girls*, but their collaborations don’t stop there. One memorable instance was in *Detective Comics #850*, where they joined forces with a shared goal: revenge.
It makes perfect sense these two would team up, doesn’t it? Catwoman needed revenge on Hush for everything he’d done to her – a complicated story involving him literally removing her heart. She approached Harley Quinn with a plan to steal the fortune of Hush’s secret identity, Thomas Elliot. While Harley wasn’t Selina’s only accomplice, she was a key player in the scheme.
1) Poison Ivy
When people consider Harley Quinn’s most iconic partnerships, Poison Ivy usually comes to mind. Their relationship has evolved over the years – starting as allies, then blossoming into a close friendship, and ultimately becoming a deeply passionate and surprisingly stable romance. They’ve faced many challenges together and built a remarkably strong connection.
Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy’s relationship has evolved over time, first appearing in *Batman: The Animated Series*. It then expanded into the comic books, showing up in both their individual titles and larger story arcs. More recently, Harley’s own TV show featured their relationship prominently, and Poison Ivy’s latest comic series also includes Harley, reflecting how connected their stories have become.
