The pay for the actors on *The White Lotus* isn’t as varied as the backgrounds of the characters who visit the show’s hotel.
Those who enjoyed the HBO series-nominated for 23 Emmys in 2025-will remember its memorable characters. Over three seasons, the show featured a wide range of personalities, including a vulnerable and attention-seeking wealthy woman (Jennifer Coolidge), a surprisingly flirtatious older man (F. Murray Abraham), and a housewife struggling with prescription drug abuse (Parker Posey).
Despite the diverse cast of characters in the show, all the actors-including Carrie Coon, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Walton Goggins, Aimee Lou Wood, Natasha Rothwell, and Blackpink’s Lisa-earned the same salary for the third season.
In an April interview with *The Hollywood Reporter*, producer David Bernard explained that *The White Lotus* treats all cast members equally. Everyone receives the same pay, and the cast is listed in alphabetical order, which, according to Bernard, indicates they are participating in the project for genuine artistic reasons.
The show’s main actors make around $40,000 per episode, as Jason Isaacs, a star in season three, told New York magazine in July.
Okay, so David is being *firm* – he says the pay structure is absolutely, 100% not changing, and honestly, good for him! But get this – Meredith Tucker, the casting director, *loves* it! She told *THR* it makes her job SO much easier, which… I mean, amazing! It’s just so good to hear someone understands the brilliance of the system. It’s just…perfect, really.
She explained that when you tell people what something is, some won’t agree-and that’s understandable, especially when people need to earn a living. She added that the show’s main actors are primarily motivated by the potential for wider success.
Although Isaacs acknowledged the pay is quite low for a television series, the cast values the chance to be part of the popular HBO show even more than a high salary.
He stressed how badly they wanted to be involved, saying they would have even sacrificed something significant to make it happen.
The series attracts top talent, and those who join are well-compensated. This year, seven actors from the third season have been nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor or Actress. The awards will be presented live on CBS and Paramount+ from Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater on September 14th. Jennifer has already won two Emmys for her performance as Tanya McQuoid in the first and second seasons.
She shared that when she first pursued her dream in her hometown, people told her it wasn’t realistic. But, accepting her Emmy award in January 2024, she proved them wrong, encouraging everyone to never give up on their own aspirations.

After six seasons, *The Handmaid’s Tale* ended in May with a dramatic finale. Surprisingly, the last episodes weren’t nominated for any Emmys, despite the show having received a total of 77 nominations and 15 wins – including a win for Outstanding Drama Series – throughout its run.
Although famous for directing *The Godfather* and winning many awards for his work behind the camera, Francis Ford Coppola recently received his first acting nomination for a brief appearance on *The Studio*.
Despite a storyline featuring extreme survival – including rebellion and cannibalism – the TV show *Yellowjackets* didn’t receive any award nominations this year.
Despite receiving 14 Emmy nominations, *Andor*’s lead actor, Diego Luna, wasn’t nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. That category’s nominees are Adam Scott, Sterling K. Brown, Gary Oldman, Noah Wyle, and Pedro Pascal.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m always following awards season, and it’s a bit surprising to me that Selena Gomez didn’t receive an individual nomination for *Only Murders in the Building*. The show itself is getting a lot of love with eight nominations – including one for Outstanding Comedy Series – but Selena was unfortunately overlooked this year. It’s similar to what happened with her co-star, Steve!
The Apple TV+ series, featuring Seth Rogen and Kathryn Hahn, received high praise from critics after its debut. It also achieved significant success at the awards show, earning a total of 23 nominations. The show won for Outstanding Comedy Series, with Ike Barinholtz taking home the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor and Seth Rogen winning Outstanding Lead Actor, among other honors.
At 83 years old, Harrison Ford-best known for films like *Star Wars*-received his very first Emmy Award nomination for his role in the comedy series *Shrinking*. He’s up for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
Despite receiving positive reviews for its final season, the HBO show didn’t get nominated for any of the major awards. The series, starring Danny McBride, Adam DeVine, and Edi Patterson, only received nominations for behind-the-scenes work, such as cinematography, music, and sound editing.
Despite not generating as much online buzz as other nominees like *The Pitt* and *The Studio*, the Hulu series received nominations in several key categories. These included Outstanding Drama Series, with Sterling K. Brown nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor, James Marsden for Outstanding Supporting Actor, and Julianne Nicholson for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
Despite becoming a popular and well-respected interview show hosted by Sean Evans, it wasn’t nominated for Outstanding Talk Series.
Since its debut in 2011, *Black Mirror* has been recognized with many Emmy nominations. However, Rashida Jones was the first actor from the show to be nominated for a Lead Actress Emmy in a Limited Series or Movie.
Martin Short received a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for *Only Murders in the Building*, but his co-star Steve Martin wasn’t nominated.
Bowen Yang has had an incredible year, making history as the most-nominated Asian male performer at the Emmys. He received four nominations, including one for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on *Saturday Night Live*. He was also nominated in this category in 2021, 2022, and 2024.
As a huge fan of both, I was thrilled to see Idina Menzel nominated for *Saturday Night Live*! She’s the only other performer besides Kenan Thompson – who’s been nominated an incredible six times – to ever get a nod for hosting and appearing in sketches. It’s fantastic recognition for both of their talents!
The Netflix series received an impressive 14 nominations at the 2022 Emmy Awards, including one for Best Drama – a first for a show not originally filmed in English. However, despite the strong showing, the show didn’t win any awards for its second season.
