With the latest casting news for *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*, fans have created artwork depicting a potential fight between Spider-Man, the Punisher, and the Hulk. Jon Bernthal and Mark Ruffalo will return as the Punisher and Hulk, respectively, joining Tom Holland as Spider-Man (now operating anonymously). Many believe Spider-Man and the Punisher will join forces to fight a particularly unstable Hulk, and this has fans excited for the next installment in Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Recent set videos from the upcoming *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* movie showed Spider-Man battling the Punisher and his armored truck. However, rumors indicate the two will actually team up in the film. If Bruce Banner transforms into the Hulk – a form we haven’t seen since 2015’s *Avengers: Age of Ultron* – he’d be a major danger to both heroes. Now, artist @70.6ix has created dark and dramatic fan art on *Instagram* depicting Spider-Man and the Punisher fighting the Hulk.
What Spider-Man & Punisher’s Team-Up Means For the MCU

It might seem strange to pair Spider-Man with the Punisher, given their different approaches to justice. Spider-Man is a classic hero, while the Punisher is willing to kill criminals. However, Spider-Man is becoming more mature, which could make him a better partner for the Punisher, who recently appeared in season one of *Daredevil: Born Again*. Jon Bernthal is set to reprise his role as Frank Castle in a Punisher-focused special in 2026, and is also expected to be in season two of *Daredevil: Born Again*.
The team-up between Frank Castle (the Punisher) and Peter Parker (Spider-Man) suggests Spider-Man might have a more significant part to play in future stories. After already appearing with Daredevil (Charlie Cox) in *Spider-Man: No Way Home*, fans would love to see Spider-Man team up with both Daredevil and the Punisher in upcoming projects, assuming Sony Pictures allows him to expand his role within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The situation with Spider-Man’s movie rights is complex, similar to the Hulk’s rights which are held by Universal, but this won’t prevent the Hulk from appearing in *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*.
Fans are hoping the next movie will show Bruce Banner transforming back into a more powerful and unrestrained Hulk, as some believe the character hasn’t been used to his full potential in recent Marvel films. If he becomes truly wild again, he could pose a major danger to New York City, likely requiring a team-up of heroes like Spider-Man and the Punisher to stop him. This situation could even lead to an unexpected alliance between Spider-Man and the Punisher, potentially becoming a popular pairing among fans.
