New information about a potential Venom game being developed by Insomniac Games has appeared online. Last year, Insomniac was hacked, and details about several unannounced Marvel projects were leaked, including *Marvel’s Spider-Man 3* and a surprising X-Men game planned for the 2030s. This suggests Insomniac has a large role in the future of Marvel games, though official details remain scarce. One leaked project, in particular, has generated a lot of interest.
Around the same time, news came out that a Venom game was being developed as a follow-up to *Marvel’s Spider-Man 2*. It was planned to be a smaller, standalone game-like *Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales*-to deliver a new experience to players quickly. While Venom was a popular and fun part of *Marvel’s Spider-Man 2*, his appearance was relatively short. Plus, with Harry Osborn no longer connected to the symbiote, fans questioned how a full Venom game would even work.
Marvel’s Venom Is Reportedly Alive and Eddie Brock is the Protagonist
A recent report from MP1st shares new information about the upcoming Venom game, but it’s important to remember that details are subject to change. The report indicates that *Marvel’s Venom* is still in development and currently aiming for a 2027 release, after being initially planned for 2025. Players will likely control Eddie Brock, the well-known host of the Venom symbiote and a famous enemy of Spider-Man. While others have become Venom, Brock is considered the original and most popular version of the character.
Sources suggest Cletus Kasady, also known as Carnage, will return after a brief appearance in a side mission from *Marvel’s Spider-Man 2*. He’s expected to be the central villain, promising a thrilling conflict. The upcoming game will also feature Anti-Venom, but Eddie Brock, not Peter Parker, will be its host. This version of Anti-Venom is said to be even more monstrous than regular Venom, and may allow players to decide whether Venom acts as a hero or a villain.
We’ll have to wait and see how things develop. The report also hinted at information about *Marvel’s Spider-Man 3*, and it’s possible this Venom game could lead into the next main *Spider-Man* game, just like *Miles Morales* did.
