Stephen Colbert’s remaining time on his late night talk show will absolutely be a laughing matter.
With his final season of *The Late Show* approaching, the Emmy-nominated host says he and his team are staying positive and enthusiastic.
Stephen Colbert shared with Zuri Hall on the red carpet at *Live From TopMob: 2025 Emmys* that he and his wife, Evelyn McGee-Colbert, are looking forward to the remaining nine months of the show and expect it to be a lot of fun. He also mentioned the show takes up all of his time, adding, “That’s it for now.”
The 61-year-old comedian, who is nominated against his former shows *The Daily Show* and *Jimmy Kimmel Live!*, said he’s hoping his team wins the award at the ceremony on September 14th.
He shared that the show’s team has taught him a lot about professionalism, and he’d love to win an award for them, as they truly deserve the appreciation. It’s a huge team effort – around 200 people work on the show, not just him.
He admitted he enjoyed the applause and fame, but also wished others could share in the recognition.
In July, CBS announced that *The Late Show with Stephen Colbert* will conclude after ten years, explaining the decision was financially driven. The show, which was previously hosted by David Letterman, will air its final episode in May 2026.

As Stephen leads his team on their final voyage, his wife of 32 years shared how he always creates a positive and guiding atmosphere.
I’m such a huge fan, and what really gets me is how naturally he leads and how genuinely kind he is to everyone involved. It’s like a family – there are around 200 people, and they all truly care for each other. You really have to be behind the scenes to understand it – they support each other in the most amazing way. It’s just beautiful to witness.
The dedication and hard work will continue for a while yet. Stay tuned for all the highlights and stars from the 2025 Emmys!
