The story was inspired by the film *The Wages of Fear*, which follows truckers transporting nitroglycerin – a highly explosive substance – on treacherous roads.
Ice Road: Vengeance isn’t a direct continuation of the first movie’s story or setting. Instead, the sequel follows Mike as he travels to Mount Everest to honor his deceased brother by scattering his ashes. It’s currently unclear whether Liam Neeson will star in another *Ice Road* movie. The director, Jonathan Hensleigh, wants to work with him again, and a successful run on streaming platforms like Netflix (and Prime Video in the UK) could make a third film happen.
