So, Techland is releasing *Dying Light: The Beast* – it started as DLC for *Dying Light 2*, but now it’s a whole separate game! It’s actually coming out *tomorrow* on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC – a day earlier than they originally said. To get everyone caught up on the story, they put out a ‘Story So Far’ video. Just a heads-up, though: it’s packed with spoilers, so if you want to go in fresh, you might want to skip it!
The story follows Kyle Crane in *Dying Light* and its expansion, *The Following*. He’s a mercenary sent to Harran to work for the GRE, where he uncovers the truth behind the zombie virus. He fights to survive the undead and teams up with people living in the Tower to complete his assignment. After suffering personal losses, he leaves the city to search for a rumored cure, leading him to encounter the mysterious Children of the Sun.
Naturally, things don’t go according to plan, and the story can end in one of two ways. But the video shows that it was actually the GRE who captured him, resulting in his imprisonment by the Baron.
In *Dying Light: The Beast*, the story continues years after the original, following Kyle as he pursues revenge after escaping. You can find a detailed overview of everything new in our latest article.
