The exciting Fall 2025 anime season is almost here! As summer anime shows finish up, Netflix has announced the release date for a returning favorite. This October will bring a fresh wave of anime, including several highly anticipated series, and Netflix is kicking things off with a new season of a popular, revived show.
The popular manga series *Ranma 1/2* returned to television last year with a new anime adaptation, starting from the beginning to introduce the story to a new audience. Now, a second season is coming this October! Netflix has announced the release date and shared a new trailer and poster to build excitement. The trailer gives a sneak peek at new characters and plenty of the hilarious chaos fans can expect in *Ranma 1/2* Season 2. You can watch the trailer below.
Ranma 1/2 Season 2 Sets October Release Date With Netflix
The second season of *Ranma 1/2* will start streaming on Netflix worldwide on October 4th, the same day it premieres in Japan. This likely means new episodes will be released weekly, similar to how the first season aired – a relief for fans who were concerned about a longer wait between episodes. The team behind the first season’s revival – including director Konosuke Uda, script supervisor Kimiko Ueno, and character designer Hiromi Tanaguchi – is returning to work on the new season at MAPPA.
The original voice actors are back for these new episodes, including Kappei Yamaguchi as Ranma (boy form), Megumi Hayashibara as Ranma (girl form), Noriko Hidaka as Akane, and Rei Sakuma as Shampoo – all featured in the trailer. Joining the cast are Toshihiko Seki as Mousse, Kaori Nazuka as Ukyo Kuonji, Kazuhiko Inoue as Happosai, Rin Mizuhara as Cologne, and Akira Ishida as Hikaru Gosunkugi.
Why You Should Check Out Ranma 1/2 Season 2

Rumiko Takahashi’s beloved manga series are experiencing a resurgence with new anime adaptations. As part of Shogakukan’s 100th anniversary, we’ve already seen a complete anime series for *Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon* (the sequel to *Inuyasha*), two seasons reviving *Urusei Yatsura*, and now, an anime is in the works for *Mao* and *Ranma 1/2*. This continues a fantastic trend of bringing these classic stories to life in animated form.
The show’s successful first season on Netflix last fall suggests the next season will be even bigger and better. With many exciting shows coming soon, Netflix has definitely kicked things off strong. What are your thoughts? Share them in the comments and join the discussion in the ComicBook Forum!
