Last week saw the biggest Steam launch ever for a *Borderlands* game, with *Borderlands 4* reaching over 304,000 players at the same time on Sunday. Although official sales figures haven’t been released yet, industry analyst Rhys Elliott from Alinea Analytics estimates the game has already sold over two million copies.
Steam reportedly brought in over a million dollars, contributing to a total revenue of around $150 million. During the week of September 8th to 14th, it appears a game slightly outperformed *Hollow Knight: Silksong* in sales, though *Silksong* still sold over 500,000 copies and now has more than six million players – an increase from its previous player count.
Sales of *Hollow Knight* remain strong, with another 200,000 copies sold recently. According to Elliott, the game has now achieved this level of sales for three weeks in a row, putting it on track to potentially reach 16 million copies sold overall.
Regarding *Borderlands 4*, Gearbox has been working on PC performance and stability, but player reviews are still generally mixed. You can find our detailed review of the game-covering the story, loot, and what it’s like after completing the main quest-on our site.
