The next Star Wars series on streaming will bring together the Skywalker family in a way fans have never seen before. For almost 50 years, the Skywalkers have been central to the Star Wars story, but it’s been difficult to show Luke, Leia, Anakin, and Padme all together due to deaths and family conflicts that happened over time.
Things are about to change, however, as Lucasfilm has announced that the new *LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past* will feature the entire Skywalker family working together on screen for the first time ever.
I was really excited to hear from Benji Samit, the executive producer of the upcoming animated series *Pieces of the Past*, over on StarWars.com. He let slip that we’re going to see Anakin, Padmé, Luke, and Leia together as a family! Apparently, the show’s using a multiverse concept, which is how they’re making it happen. As a fan, that sounds amazing – seeing all of them interacting is something I’ve always wanted!
Samit pointed out that this might be the only chance to showcase the entire Skywalker family together, so they felt it was important to share it with both fans and themselves.
What really struck me about this film is the unique chance it gave us to see the entire Skywalker family together, all four of them sharing a scene. It felt incredibly special, like we were showing fans – and honestly, ourselves – something that might *never* happen again. It was a truly one-of-a-kind moment.
Last season of *Rebuild the Galaxy* included three out of the four Skywalkers – Padmé Amidala was the only one missing. But she’ll be joining the action in the new episodes, adding to the show’s alternate take on the Star Wars universe.
LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past is a new animated series that playfully reimagines the Star Wars universe. It centers around a young Jedi named Sig Greebling (voiced by Gaten Matarazzo) who unintentionally creates tears in reality. This opens the door to alternate versions of the Star Wars galaxy, filled with unexpected twists on familiar characters and stories.
Season two of the *Rebuild the Galaxy* series, titled *Pieces of the Past*, premiered on Disney+ on Friday, October 19th. Critics have given the show almost perfect scores, describing it as an enjoyable alternate take on *Star Wars* that respectfully pokes fun at the original films.
Will The Skywalkers Ever Unite in Live-Action?
It’s fun to see the Skywalker family together on screen for the first time in *LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past*. However, while enjoyable, this LEGO-based adventure doesn’t quite reach the same level as the bigger, official *Star Wars* stories told in live-action or animated form.
It’s sad to imagine Luke, Leia, Padmé, and Anakin probably won’t appear together in any official Star Wars stories. While it’s not impossible, it seems very unlikely to happen now.
Since Padme died before Luke and Leia grew up, the only way to see all four main Skywalker family members together on screen would be if the story used the idea of a multiverse – or, as it’s sometimes called in Star Wars, The World Between Worlds.
Series like *Star Wars: Rebels* and *Ahsoka* have hinted at the possibility of alternate realities within the Star Wars universe. This means the franchise could potentially revisit that idea, perhaps even bringing Luke, Leia, Anakin, and Rey together for a major crossover event.
There’s been talk that the next season of *Ahsoka* might feature more flashbacks, possibly using the World Between Worlds. This could mean we’ll see characters like Padmé and Anakin Skywalker appear in the show’s second season.
This could open the door for more Skywalker family members to team up in future official Star Wars stories.
