A highly anticipated Xbox game, expected to be one of the year’s biggest releases, has been confirmed to work perfectly with the Steam Deck right when it launches. It’s a bit surprising to see this confirmation a month before the game is even released, but Xbox Game Studios has consistently shown good support for the Steam Deck.
The upcoming game *Ninja Gaiden 4*, published by Xbox Game Studios, will surprisingly be available on multiple platforms when it launches on October 21, 2025. It’s currently available for pre-order on Steam, and Steam Deck owners will be happy to know it’s confirmed to work with the handheld device. However, the game will cost $70 at launch, and being Steam Deck Verified doesn’t guarantee perfect performance on the device.
There Still May Be Issues
When a game is labeled “Steam Deck Verified,” it means Valve has tested it and confirmed it works on the device from beginning to end, using the built-in controls and screen. However, “Verified” doesn’t mean the game will always run perfectly. In fact, you shouldn’t necessarily expect a flawless experience.
Based on the game’s listed requirements on Steam, *Ninja Gaiden 4* might struggle to maintain a smooth frame rate, especially during fast-paced combat. While achieving a consistent 30 frames per second is possible, it would likely require reducing the resolution and visual details. We’ll have to wait and see how PlatinumGames optimizes the game for the Steam Deck, as they haven’t shared any specifics yet. However, it’s already looking better than *Borderlands 4*, which hasn’t performed well on the Steam Deck since its recent release.
First Big Steam Deck Verification in a Couple of Weeks
As a Steam Deck fan, I’m really glad to see a new wave of Verified games! It felt like a while since the last big one – *Borderlands 4* actually came and went without getting the ‘Verified’ stamp. So, *Cronos: The New Dawn* is still the most recent noteworthy release that’s officially confirmed to work great on the Deck.
