The *Power Rangers* series has evolved a lot since it started many years ago, and seven shows created during Disney’s ownership are still enjoyable today. *Power Rangers* began with Saban Entertainment, adapting the long-running Japanese series *Super Sentai* by combining its footage with new American-made scenes. When Disney bought the rights, they took over production for several seasons, but each show still maintained its own unique style.
Disney’s run with *Power Rangers* brought some big differences from how the show was made previously, including shorter seasons, younger characters, and a shift in the show’s overall feel. However, many fans still love several seasons from that era, and some actually hold up better today than the older *Power Rangers* shows. Here’s a look at seven Disney-era *Power Rangers* seasons that stand the test of time.

7.) Power Rangers Wild Force
Power Rangers Wild Force was the first season affected by Disney’s purchase of the franchise, with about half of its episodes being altered. While it served as a strong conclusion to the original Saban era – featuring two of the best team-up episodes ever, ‘Forever Red’ and ‘Reinforcements From the Future’ – the season ended on a somewhat disappointing note with the Rangers unable to defeat their biggest enemy. It ranks last on this list not because of the show itself, but because learning about what happened to the actor who played the Red Ranger can change how you remember the series.

6.) Power Rangers Mystic Force
Given how much potential there is with the idea of *Power Rangers* using magic, it’s surprising that *Power Rangers Mystic Force* is the only series to fully explore that concept. The show introduced a team of young magic users who battled various powerful foes. While the Red Ranger’s storyline about finding his missing parents was prominent, the other characters didn’t receive as much development. However, the Rangers looked fantastic in action, and during Disney’s run, visual appeal was a major factor in how memorable a series became.

5.) Power Rangers Jungle Fury
When it comes to memorable teams, Disney’s Power Rangers had some real standouts. *Jungle Fury* was particularly cool, introducing a martial arts school and its students as they battled a powerful, ancient enemy. The team started with three members, and featured RJ, a fantastic mentor who became the first Purple Ranger with a unique Muay Thai fighting style. What made *Jungle Fury* special was its original Rangers-characters not previously seen in the Japanese series-and its focus on exciting, hand-to-hand combat. It’s a season that holds up really well and is worth revisiting.

4.) Power Rangers Ninja Storm
The first *Power Rangers* season produced under Disney was arguably the best. *Power Rangers Ninja Storm* broke some established traditions-it didn’t include a crossover episode, for example-but also embraced others, helping it stand out. The show followed three ninja students who were also into extreme sports, and featured a developing romantic storyline, a mysterious Green Ranger, and two villains who eventually joined the team as heroes. It successfully blended familiar elements with new ideas, making it a fantastic launch for Disney’s run with the franchise.

3.) Power Rangers Dino Thunder
Years after its initial release, *Power Rangers Dino Thunder* really embraced its roots and appealed to longtime fans. It featured a team of relatable teenage heroes, and notably brought back Jason David Frank as Tommy Oliver after a long absence. He returned as a doctor and once again became a Power Ranger, leading to some memorable episodes. These episodes explored Tommy’s character in new ways, revealed the show’s origins, and included exciting crossovers with a later series. There’s a lot to appreciate in *Dino Thunder* if you revisit it today.
2.) Power Rangers SPD
Power Rangers S.P.D. (Space Patrol Delta) was a special season of the show. While other teams had connections to larger organizations, S.P.D. was the first where the Rangers were openly considered a backup team. After the original ‘A Squad’ disappeared, this group of less-experienced Rangers, known as ‘B Squad,’ stepped up and managed to save the world. The season is full of memorable moments, including a strong rivalry between the Red and Blue Rangers, an incredibly powerful sixth Ranger who made a huge impact right away, emotional stories about loss, and even thought-provoking commentary on society. It remains a complex and enjoyable series even years later.

1.) Power Rangers RPM
Disney arguably reached the height of its *Power Rangers* success with *Power Rangers RPM*. This series marked the end of *Power Rangers* for a significant period and presented a unique post-apocalyptic setting – a virus had decimated the population, leaving only one city remaining. This team of Rangers was humanity’s last defense, fighting desperately to save what was left. It’s remarkable considering how different it was from the original, somewhat silly, *Super Sentai* series that inspired it. Similar to *Power Rangers In Space*, Disney took a bold new direction with its final installment, solidifying its legacy with what many consider to be one of the best *Power Rangers* shows ever made.
