Konami Taking Requests for Next Metal Gear Solid Remake

Konami is deciding which *Metal Gear Solid* game to remake next. Remakes are becoming popular because a lot has changed in gaming since the PlayStation 1 and 2 days. Many modern gamers never experienced those classic titles, and updated technology allows these games to truly shine with improved stories, graphics, and gameplay. While not every game *needs* a remake, it can definitely bring older titles up to current standards. We’ve seen successful remakes with classics like *Resident Evil*, *Silent Hill 2*, and now *Metal Gear Solid 3*.

Now that the *Metal Gear Solid 3* remake has been so well-received, fans are wondering what Konami will do next. Will they create a completely new *Metal Gear* game, release another collection of older titles, or remake another classic *Metal Gear Solid* game? Recent buzz within the *Metal Gear* community suggests they’re leaning towards remaking another title.

Konami Surveys Fans on Next Metal Gear Solid Remake

Konami recently sent out a survey to fans ahead of the Tokyo Game Show broadcast, asking which *Metal Gear Solid* game they’d most like to see remade. The choices included the very first *Metal Gear* and *Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake*, as well as the main *Metal Gear Solid* series and *Peacewalker*. While the unpopular *Metal Gear Survive* wasn’t included, fans *can* request a remake of *Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain*, which is 10 years old. However, Konami remaking that game seems unlikely, as it still looks and plays well on current consoles and PCs.

I noticed a couple of interesting questions in the upcoming survey for the METAL GEAR production hotline at TGS2025.

I heard Konami is really trying to figure out what we, as fans, want to see in future updates about Metal Gear. They’re asking about what we’re hoping for with future games, and especially what we think about a possible Volume 2 of the Master Collection. Honestly, I think a lot of us are dreaming of full remakes of the original *Metal Gear Solid* and *Metal Gear Solid 4*. The first game is getting pretty dated, and *MGS4* has been super hard to play for anyone who didn’t own a PS3!

Right now, we can only wait to see what Konami does, but it’s clear they’re focusing on the Metal Gear Solid series again. A new Metal Gear game, possibly not called *Metal Gear Solid 6*, seems likely. While remakes and remasters are keeping the series going for now, it could still be a long time before a completely new game is released.
