Demon Slayer’s popularity continues to soar, and its first movie, Infinity Castle, has become the highest-grossing Japanese film ever released internationally.
Just two weeks after it launched worldwide, the movie *Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle* has already earned over $555 million (about £411 million), and that number is expected to keep growing.
Changes in exchange rates have also played a role in this. Deadline reports that the previous Demon Slayer movie, Mugen Train (2021), earned 41 billion yen, and Infinity Castle has currently made around 34 billion yen. Because of the exchange rate, those yen amounts now translate to more dollars.
Despite everything, this shows anime is becoming increasingly popular globally, with series like Demon Slayer attracting new viewers and reaching a wider audience.
The popular anime series is concluding with three movies. The first one became available internationally on September 12th, following its release in Japan on July 18th.
