Game Pass Saw Its “Largest Investment” to Date in 2025, Says ID@Xbox Head

Even though Game Pass has faced some criticism, including from Pete Hines, a former leader at Bethesda, it has expanded rapidly. Chris Charla, who leads the ID@Xbox program, recently told Eurogamer that 2025 saw the biggest financial investment in the service so far.

We’ve received a very positive response from our partners. According to Charla, most partners who’ve already had a game on Game Pass are eager to include their future games as well. We currently have deals with over 150 partners to add more titles, and we’re always discussing upcoming games with hundreds of partners each year.

We helped more than 50 teams join Game Pass last year. This year, we’re making our biggest investment ever in Game Pass, and we’re committed to offering players the widest variety of amazing games.

Recent reports suggest Game Pass is a profitable venture, even when considering the potential loss of sales from releasing first-party games directly. It’s clear Game Pass offers excellent value, with a strong lineup of games this year including titles like *Clair Obscur: Expedition 33*, *The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered*, *Assassin’s Creed Mirage*, *Gears of War: Reloaded*, *Grounded 2*, and the highly anticipated *Hollow Knight: Silksong*.

The rest of the year has a lot of promising games lined up, including *Ninja Gaiden 4*, *The Outer Worlds 2*, and *Call of Duty: Black Ops 7*. You can also find out what new games are coming to Game Pass later this September.
