Get ready to return to the tent! The Great British Bake Off is back with a fresh, exciting competition.
For the first time on the Great British Bake Off, the bakers were challenged to make flapjacks – a classic treat often found in school cafeterias – as their first assignment.
Next, the bakers tackle a classic school cake challenge – but there’s a twist! This is a practice run before their final test: creating a showstopping display of nostalgic treats for a school fete.
Making twelve flapjacks was already challenging, but now they also have to create beautiful decorations and delicious toppings.
Nadia is preparing cherry and coconut flapjacks, a beloved recipe from her childhood. When Paul Hollywood questions her about her tempered chocolate, she reveals she has notes on the correct temperature, prompting Hollywood to playfully accuse her of cheating.

During the recent themed week on the show, judge Prue Leith explained that Paul Hollywood was particularly enthusiastic because cake and custard are his favorite treats. They featured plenty of both throughout the week, and one of the challenges specifically asked the bakers to make custard.

The Great British Bake Off continues on Tuesday 23rd September at 8pm on Channel 4.
