Riot Games has announced that 2XKO, a free-to-play tag fighting game based on League of Legends, will enter Early Access on PC on October 7th. The game is also planned for a full release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Here are the latest details:
Closed Beta
The closed beta for *2XKO* has been running for two weeks, and the community’s reaction has been fantastic! Players are really enjoying our new champions, Vi and Blitzcrank, and we’ve seen a surge in community-run tournaments worldwide – a big thanks to all the organizers making those happen. This beta was our first large-scale test of the online systems, and our team has been working hard to improve matchmaking, squash bugs, and ensure everything runs smoothly. Things are holding up well, so we’re excited to share what’s next for the game.
Early Access
The closed beta will finish on October 7th, and access to the full 2XKO game begins immediately after. We’re launching the complete version with a full season of content and introducing new features like combo trials.
We’re going to spend this time perfecting our Battle Pass and Ranked modes, and making some adjustments to game balance. Once Early Access begins, we won’t be resetting progress anymore – anything you unlock starting October 7th will be permanently yours.
Seasons
Our first season, Season 0, will begin with Early Access! We’re planning five seasons for 2026, and each one will introduce a new champion, reset Ranked play, offer a fresh Battle Pass, and include other exciting updates. This means you’ll be able to play as our tenth champion when Early Access launches on October 7th. Stay tuned for a gameplay trailer and developer update coming soon!
Community Tournaments
We’re also dedicated to supporting the competitive 2XKO scene. We want to highlight and empower community tournament organizers and groups, so we’re sponsoring 22 community-run tournaments throughout the rest of 2025. This initiative is called First Impact.
Riot will be adding bonus prizes to each First Impact tournament. Winning as a duo will earn you an even bigger reward! You can find more details, including a full list of all 22 sponsored events, in our announcement article.
