2K and Gearbox Software have pushed back the release of *Borderlands 4* on the Switch 2. It was originally scheduled for October 3rd, but now doesn’t have a confirmed release date.
Borderlands 4 became available on September 12th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Here is the full message from Gearbox Software on the delay:
Greetings, Vault Hunters.
We’re letting you know that the release of *Borderlands 4* on the Nintendo Switch 2 will be delayed. This wasn’t an easy decision, but we want to make sure the game is the best it can be, and it needs a bit more time for development and polishing. We’re also hoping to launch the game alongside cross-save functionality, which we know is important to many of you. We’ll share a new release date as soon as our plans are finalized.
Nintendo is cancelling all existing digital pre-orders. You can cancel your pre-order yourself now, or it will be cancelled for you automatically starting September 26th. If you have questions about the Nintendo eShop, please contact Nintendo directly. For pre-orders of physical copies, please contact the store where you placed your order.
We’re incredibly grateful for the support, feedback, and patience of our fans and community – you’re the reason we’re able to keep doing what we love.
