Square Enix and Dokidoki Grooveworks have revealed a trailer for *Octopath Traveler 0* at Tokyo Game Show 2025, giving players a first look at how the game will be played.
Here is an overview of the game, via Square Enix:
About
Begin a new adventure with the latest game in the *Octopath Traveler* series. Journey through the world of Orsterra in an epic tale of rebuilding and revenge, all centered around powerful divine rings.
As a huge fan of the series, I’m so excited to see them bringing back the gorgeous HD-2D art style – that blend of retro pixels and 3D is just amazing! I also loved how much freedom we had with choosing Path Actions to really shape our character, and the Break and Boost system always made battles feel dynamic. But this time, they’re taking it even further! Being able to create my *own* character and actually rebuild the town is a dream come true – it’s going to add a whole new level of immersion!
Key Features
- You are the protagonist of the story. Choose your appearance, voice, motions, and favorite dish with the new character creation feature!
- Restore your hometown through town building. Invite companions and allies to live in a town of your creation!
- Engage in exhilarating and strategic command battles. Choose from over 30 allies to form a party comprised of up to eight characters!
- Use Path Actions to invite people to your town, engage in battle, and obtain items. Where you go and what you do is entirely up to you.
- Equip action skills with the new skill system. These skills can be learned by allies and passed on to others.
Octopath Traveler II will be released on December 4th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam and the Microsoft Store). You can find more information about the game in these articles: [link 1] and [link 2].
