The highly-rated Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, originally a Switch 2 exclusive, is coming to PlayStation 5 on December 8th. This version of the late 80s adventure game was developed by RGG Studio.
However, there’s a downside: people who already own the PS4 version won’t be able to upgrade to this new version, and unfortunately, you won’t be able to carry over your saved game data.
Here’s how SEGA describes it:
Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut is the best way to experience the beginning of the Yakuza saga. Take on the roles of Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima as they navigate the criminal underworld of Tokyo and Osaka in this gripping story of loyalty, betrayal, and the events that shaped two iconic characters.

As a huge fan, I’m really excited about the Director’s Cut expansion! It’s adding a ton of new cutscenes that finally fill in the gaps and give us a much deeper look into what really happened and the stories behind the characters. It’s like getting the full picture we’ve always wanted!
The update features a new multiplayer mode called Red Light Raid, where you can team up with friends and select from 60 different characters to battle waves of enemies.
You’ll be able to buy a physical copy of the game on Blu-ray, as well as download it digitally if you prefer.
