Hulu is adding some classic ‘90s movies for its subscribers. After recently updating its selection with new titles, Hulu now includes favorites like *Clueless* and *School of Rock*. Fans who grew up in the ‘90s will be happy to revisit these films and remember why the recent remake doesn’t quite compare to the originals.
Joe Pykta’s 1996 film *Space Jam*, a lively mix of animation and live-action, became available to stream on Hulu on September 1st. The movie features Michael Jordan playing himself, and tells the story of how Bugs Bunny and the Looney Tunes convince him to come out of retirement to help them defeat The Monstars – aliens who steal the skills of NBA players in a basketball game. The film also stars Wayne Knight, Theresa Randle, and Bill Murray, with Billy West and Danny DeVito providing many of the character voices.
Why You Should Watch Space Jam
Get ready for family fun with *Space Jam* this September! This movie is a nostalgic treat for adults and still holds up as one of the most memorable films from the ’90s. Packed with famous athletes and beloved cartoon characters, plus a fantastic ’90s soundtrack featuring songs like “Space Jam” and “I Believe I Can Fly,” it’s a trip down memory lane. Even if you didn’t grow up with it, *Space Jam*’s lively story, charming characters, and unique blend of live-action and animation make it a blast to watch.
When Space Jam came out, critics were divided – it received a 43% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, it was a huge financial success, earning over $250 million worldwide on an $80 million budget, making it one of the top ten highest-grossing films of 1996. Its lasting popularity is clear, as it led to a sequel, Space Jam: A New Legacy, released in 2021 with LeBron James. While the sequel didn’t quite capture the same charm as the original, it might satisfy fans wanting more. Currently, you can’t find it on major streaming services, but it is available to rent or purchase.
New Movies Streaming on Hulu
Hulu is adding even more content this month, but they already have a huge lineup for September. Subscribers can now stream popular movies like *Clueless*, *The 40-Year-Old Virgin*, *Juno*, *Mrs. Doubtfire*, and *Jennifer’s Body*. For families, Hulu now offers *How to Train Your Dragon* and *How to Train Your Dragon 2*, plus the first three *Night at the Museum* films and *School of Rock*.
The streaming service has announced its October 2025 schedule, which features a wide variety of movies including *Die Hard*, *Hotel Transylvania*, the original *Scream* trilogy, and all five *Twilight* films.
