Coronation Street’s Becky Swain leaves Carla Connor unsettled in tense ITVX episode

Please be aware that the following contains spoilers for the Coronation Street episode that aired on Wednesday, September 24th, and is currently available to watch on ITVX.

On Wednesday, September 24th, 2025, Carla Connor (played by Alison King) finds herself in an awkward situation on Coronation Street.

Okay, so things are getting really tense! There’s this woman, Becky Swain, played by Amy Cudden, who suddenly shows up, and it turns out she’s the wife of Carla’s fiancé, Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers)-except Becky was thought to be *dead*. It’s a seriously complicated situation and Carla’s really feeling the pressure of it all.

Lisa agreed to help Becky move on Monday, September 22nd, but their car unexpectedly ran out of gas.

After a heartfelt talk, Lisa finally understood just how isolated Becky had felt while living in hiding as part of the witness protection program.

Just as they were sharing a nice moment, Carla and Betsy – the daughter of Lisa and Becky, also known as Sydney Martin – arrived to help.

Because of their shared past, Becky messaged Lisa in a way that felt too personal, and Carla became more and more concerned about Becky’s influence on their lives.

As the soap opera went on, Becky attempted to connect with Betsy. Hoping to get to know her better after being apart for so long, she asked Betsy about everything that had happened in the past four years.

I couldn’t help but notice how Becky tried to say something to Betsy about things that happened a while back, but Betsy just didn’t seem to care. It was a bit awkward, honestly, because it felt like Becky was bringing up old news months after everything had already been handled.

Betsy quickly left, and when Becky checked in later, Carla thought it would be best if Becky pretended to still be unconscious.

However, when Becky returned once more, Betsy invited her to stay for tea.

Lisa, Becky, and Betsy quickly fell into familiar patterns of behavior, like a long-established family, which made Carla feel uncomfortable as she observed them.

Is Swarla getting overwhelmed, and will Lisa notice something is different?
