Marvel Studios Confirms Status Of Marvel Zombies Season 2

Following the successful release of its first season, Marvel Studios is considering continuing the Marvel Zombies series. The animated show expands on the zombie storyline first presented in Season 1 of What If…?, where a zombie outbreak wiped out most of the Avengers, turning them into powerful undead versions of themselves. Though the first season was brief with only four episodes, its popularity suggests more could be on the way.

Brad Winderbaum from Marvel Television recently told Comicbook.com that they’re planning future episodes of *Marvel Zombies*. He stressed that a second season will only happen if viewers tune in to watch the first, explaining that more episodes will be made if there’s enough interest. Winderbaum also confirmed the team is prepared to start working on Season 2 as soon as they get the go-ahead.

We really want everyone to subscribe to Disney+ and check out this show! If you do, you’ll get even more great content, and we can’t wait to share it with you. We’re prepared and eager to deliver!

Even though several Marvel TV series haven’t lasted beyond one season, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is currently experiencing success. Daredevil: Born Again has already been renewed for a third season, before its second even airs, and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is set to return for two more seasons as well.

The animated series *Marvel Zombies* follows *What If…?,* which also ran for three seasons on Disney+. If *Marvel Zombies* is as well-received, it has a good chance of matching that success.

The upcoming *Marvel Zombies* series will be a first for the Marvel Cinematic Universe: an R-rated animated show. This mature rating could attract a wider audience, including horror fans and viewers who haven’t engaged with Marvel’s other animated content.

Because the story takes place across the Multiverse, the series opens up possibilities for team-ups between heroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Plus, *Marvel Zombies* will mark the first time we see Blade in the MCU.

Stars from the Marvel Cinematic Universe like Florence Pugh, Hailee Steinfeld, Simu Liu, Elizabeth Olsen, and David Harbour are lending their voices to the new animated series, *Marvel Zombies*. Created by Bryan Andrews and Zeb Wells, the show began streaming on Disney+ on September 24, 2025.

Where Will Marvel Zombies Go in Season 2?

Although *Marvel Zombies* started as a limited series, Marvel Studios is already planning to expand it. This is likely due to the show being based on a popular comic book series, which provides a wealth of material for future storylines.

Because the show takes place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s multiverse, it has a built-in advantage. It can utilize established characters and actors, and place them in a new, apocalyptic scenario that wouldn’t fit within the primary Marvel Earth timeline.

Season 1 of Marvel Zombies cleverly revisited familiar moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, like Spider-Man trying to defeat Thanos with Thor’s hammer. A second season could offer even more unexpected and fascinating takes on MCU events.

The show concluded with a shocking twist that has viewers eagerly anticipating what happens next season. However, whether or not there *will* be another season depends on how well it performs on Disney+ – strong viewership is essential for it to be renewed.
